When they call again tell them that you have explained he is out of the country and if they call again you will report them for harassment. Ask for all further communication to be done in writing. Normally I ask them if it's a sales call, they then answer me yes and I tell them no thank you. If it isn't a sales call then they need to send everything in writing anyway.

  • Yes I should have done, I have done that whole "harrassment" thing a zillion times, gawd knows why I didn't think of it at the time! Was so annoyed at the attitude of him that I got my back straight up, grrr! The last call lasted 10 seconds, they asked if he was here I said 'nope', they said 'can you get him to call' and I was like 'yeah' and hung up. Next time I will be armed with that whole harrassment thing as what they've done so far is bang out of order, i feel like complaining about him!!

DFW: Glad you're back, you make me smile. Oh and drool over your delicious looking cakes, your son doesn't realise what a great mother he's got, alternatively if he carries on being such a brat ... you can come to Derbyshire and be my mother, please? ;)

I would gladly swap my son for you atm, but would this make me a granny  at 34 thinking its too young ( my ds1 best be reading this!) But if so I reckon we could get a gig on jezza (kyle) then and make a fortune selling our story to the sun :rotfl:

  • Had the plumber round this morning as seems dh fitted the washing machine pipe wrong ....I loosened the sink whatsamajig too and made it look like that was the cause instead so hopefully they will pay for the cupboard to be fixed from the water damage now (hope I'm not damning myself now through all this lying :o ) why does everything go wrong when he goes off for months!

  • Not a nsd, decided to buy some halloween decorations, some rolls and chips and we're going to have a scary movie night later (scary= hotel transylvannia or similar and night means 4pm :rotfl:) I won't bore you with yesterdays events but needless to say after temporarily losing 3 children plus my mind I wanted an easy day today . Ooh reminds me I forgot alcohol or are they a little young ;)

I just got a letter in the post inviting ds1 on a trip to a forensic dept at a uni :) he was chosen along with other 'gifted and able scientists'!! They had to also get an A or A* in their recent mock exam (on Monday this week he did it so that was quick!) :D I wish I were as clever as him! Yesterday he decided break his enforced silence of not talking to mum (think he's cracking from having no gadgets ) and sat there trying to talk to me about scientific formulas :eek: I didn't remember any and felt very stupid compared to my 15 yr old :o I did at one point think 'geek' but clearly it pays off as I never got chosen for any special trips :o so I take it back :rotfl:

I've got a wash on the line! I'm loving the warmer October weather :)

Ds2 had a harvest assembly this morning and he picked his nose all the way through 'old McDonald had a farm' ....I can totally tell he's mine unlike ds1 who must get his brains from dh side :rotfl: dd assembly is this afternoon so have to go back for that! Non stop again can't wait for half term!!!!

  • I've been out spending again! No need for a telling off though it was with vouchers from park and all purchases bar 3 were xmas presents :) I've ticked 2 nieces, 2 nephews off and some small bits for my kids. The non Christmas presents were 3 hot water bottles (on 3 for 2 ) so I can keep the heating off longer ;) last years were damaged/ ruined from water damage and mould from the leak under the sink :( ! Weather says to expect bad weather on Monday so hopefully we're prepared ;)

  • We had to use the hot water bottles last night! It was so cold  Not cold enough for heating though yet ;) I am thinking about putting it on today though to check to make sure everything is working as it should because if I need to call them out once it's too cold for no heating we may be waiting up to 2 weeks (just read this on someone's fb status that they've had a 2 week wait- they put the heating on in September ) so might just give it a trial run later make sure no radiators are leaking, that they're all heating up etc :)

Well the children have been off for less than 24 hours and my house is a tip. DS1 didn't go to bed until 2am as I got up at 1am to get a drink and he was sat downstairs watching a film  "only an hour left mum......." hmmmmm! I was in bed by 7.50 last night I felt so sick :( still do today. There is a sickness bug going round so I suppose it was only a matter of time before it got me!

I've re-booked my son into martial arts classes on a Sunday morning. I couldn't get him from the Thursday one as it finished too late and the smaller ones would have been asleep already, plus it was a bit of a pain trying to get him there too. With dh away I just have to try and fit everything in around me and not take DH doing anything into consideration from now on because it scuppers plans when he goes away. Anyway hoping the kung fu helps with ds1's flying hormones....... I didn't do yoga yesterday because I felt sick but am hoping to go back at some point!

Not a nsd today need a few essentials....but will be less than a fiver and I have that in change so no need to touch bank card hopefully. Tax credits are through and i'm hoping not to touch them before the next month's budget starts! Have done the banking and all is looking o.k. Not brilliant but not dire either. And i've not touched the emergency funds this month unlike most other months :o (o.k dh has but he's paying it back so not counting that :))

I've arranged to go to MIL on Tuesday-Wednesday. DH called and told me how excited his mum was about me going over. No chance of saying no then was there . Nicely played MIL, nicely played! My mum has The first weekend off after they go back to school so I may go and visit her then rather than fitting everyone in this week. Plus it's after payday so will be much better for me!

    Expenses this week:
Youth club Monday, Thursday, Friday for DD = £3
Petrol to get to MIL = £30?
    Toll Charges= £4
Food= Hopefully less than £10. It's a use-it-all-up week ;) we've got fruit and veg in so I will give it a try anyway :)

Therefore am hoping to get everything with child benefit money (£47.10) that I get on Monday, and thus not denting into next month's budgets. Will play it by ear though as plans may be liable to change (as usual eh)

Hope everyone has a nice weekend :)

I've updated my signature, what was my aim for the savings? £3k....hmm not looking likely is it not before 2014 anyway. Tenant paid a bit of money in last week so I transferred it straight to savings, so it has bumped up a little but i'm a little under half way with the goal ....I will try though still have November & December's money yet ;) - £1461.24 / 3000 (48.7% saved so far for my mini goal...)

ETA: I've taken all the money from the main account/rounded down all other accounts to the nearest £5 and added to the ISA: It now stands at £1711.XX (Can't remember the penny amounts now!) so much healthier and i've no chance of touching tax credits, or anything else as my bank now has £20 in it (main account anyway ) but it means i'm up to 57% now :D Now here is hoping there are no major disasters meaning I don't have enough in my emergency funds for November :)
