Hello!
I've only just got the laptop back today so thought I would jump on quickly to update before I put the kids to bed (and whilst DH is out!)
I have had a busy and very spendy week, I've been to see dad in hospital (8 hour round trip, very tiring!), visited DN(ephew) for his birthday and taken the kids out for the day with him and spent a lot of time volunteering this week already. Dad has an infection on his chest and was very tired and groggy when we visited and he really didn't look too good. Others that had had similar operations were up and about and were on their way to going home. Dad's bowel shut down (which is common according to Dr after this sort of surgery) so they were trying to rest it so he wasn't allowed food or drink for 5 days. Then of course he had the infection and all sorts of other small things have not gone to plan so his recovery is very slow. So far the progress has been so small that we are not sure when he will actually leave the hospital. Then of course he needs to be fit enough to start chemo as wellit's very worrying.
On top of all this we had a huge barny with the neighbours againto be exact, I did (not dh he didn't want to come out!!) I didn't start it and it was so petty it's unreal to be honest! I emptied my paddling pool out into the street but you have that tiny amount that no bucket will get to (it was a few inches in a family size pool) so we emptied it on to our grass, which OF COURSE ran straight off the flipping grass down the path and through the fence to her!! Grrr! I immediately tried to sweep it back to us and up the path but it's almost like she was waiting for something and she ran straight out f-ing and blinding and screaming through the fence at me. I ignored her for a few minutes and carried on sweeping the water up to the gate and onto the street, where of course, she was waiting for me! She went mental calling me names and I retaliated. What I wanted to do was punch her if I'm totally honest but we had a huge row instead. Her DH came out to back her up and neither would let me get a word in so I walked off to get DH and she started calling me a wimp walking off etc and calling me names. Anyway DH came out, he told them about the other week and the fact that they really had flooded our garden and his kit and not just a tiny amount of water as we had accidentally done. SO they thought we did it to "get them back" and the row ensued and she threatened to come over and "sort me out" . I went mental at this point (very nearly, quite literally) and ended up rowing with DH as well as her! He was telling me to go inside and shut up and so he got the brunt of my anger as well!!! I'm so p1>>ed off with it all. This happened the day before i'd gone to see my dad too so I was already nervous, upset and worried about that and she just went and pressed all my buttons basically! We've been to our welfare, the police and we have someone coming to see us as we feel they've breached the contract we have between us now and i'm sick of living on the edge waiting for her to blow at any point! Every row we've had has been started by her
SO anyway i'm down on money, morale and sleep!!! Not a fab update really is it lol xMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. A-£200, S- £221.34. O-£200EF- £642.41/500

Thanks Shinner
I'm trying to stay positive...dad was taken off of some tubes earlier (morphine and something else??) but unfortunately had a bad reaction to something they tried to give orally and is back on them again. One step forward and two back!
Good news maybe on the neighbours situation though ....our new welfare officer thinks that they can get them moved (which is what they wanted and why they have been so awful all along) so we're waiting to hear back...
I've also this evening signed up to YNAB (Steph it's all down to your enthusiasm!) my spreadsheets were all lost when the laptop broke and so I thought I may as well give it another go....watch this space as spreadsheets are not my forte :rotfl:Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46.
