So sorry to hear about the car being a dud -I don't know how people live with themselves.
We bought a car many years ago that was lovely but when DH had a minor accident the garage told us it was a cut and shut - apprently underneath you could see the colour of the other car:eek:
Now I refuse to buy a car from a private owner - I only use garages; which does unfortunately mean you have to pay more.
What I also do is arrange with my normal car repair garage to take in the car we are thinking of buying for them to check over before I actually buy it!!
Such a shame you are not closer, we have a lovaly car sales place not far away who sell ex-Motability cars. They are great, they have always been well looked after and hardly have any miles on the clock.
The car I have at the moment came from there and it is doing brilliantly although it is a Renault:rotfl:
Hope you eventually manage to get your money back.
Hope you have a good weekend at your Dad's.0 -

hi dfw321 - your diary seemed to have dropped off my subscribed list - I think I might have seen one on the mortgage free boards? anyhoo - long time and lots of posts for me to catch up.
You are doing so well now that you are debt free and your house fund looks amazing.
how disappointing about the car - I hope something manages to sort itself out!0 -
No laptop atm, so trying to catch up on here is a right drag!
I'm going to organise the laptop to be picked up tomorrow/wed but it takes up to 10 days to fix !
Dad has a cancellation on Weds for his op so just another day really as he'll be in first thing on Wed!
I had a naughty day out today and spent £100 on a trip to a lovely antiques place earlier it was a lovely treat and I had a great day with my friend and new (old and antique actually...) things for my dresser which I'm going to sand and paint very soon!
anyway just thought I'd post a quick one to let you know I'm here! hope everyone is ok xxMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. A-£200, S- £221.34. O-£200EF- £642.41/500

It's no problem - just glad they can be put to good use.
I was worried they would not make it as i could not remember your real name and thought I could not put DFW:rotfl:
Then I thought you might not open it in case you thought nasty neighbours had sent a suspicious package:rotfl:0 -

I've dropped my phone again and cracked it even more (didn't realise it was possible to crack more than it already was lol) so typing is long and slow! I've got a meeting with home start today so I'm trying to fit in jobs around it. Dad's op is in about an hour so I'll hopefully hear something by this evening about how it went. I really need to post my laptop off for repair but you would not believe the trouble I'm having finding a box and some bubble wrap :wall: ! So will put up with the phone updates for now! Hope all goes well today with your dad and that you can keep distracted until you hear. OH got another crack in his screen - only mended at xmas but hopefully this one will stay as it is so we dont need to get it repaired as quickly.Me, DD1 20, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/190
