Morning DFW, £95 on 10 days worth of food sounds pretty good going to be especially as £11 of that was on the beef! Hope it lasts.
Re DH using the phone have you ever looked on saynoto0870 for alternative numbers? It doesnt always work but usually you can get a cheaper or 0800 number instead of the expensive lines xxMummytogirls x0 -

Alternately, look at the phones and utilities tab on this forum for pre-dial numbers. I use it for international calls and it really makes a difference. Although, I haven't looked at the rates for national calls.
Let me know if there's a London meet-up.

Hope your visitors are behaving better than some of mine did, your kids don't overdose on chocolate today, and your beef dinner is a wonderfully tasty success!
ps. DH should pay his own unnecessary 'phone bill - CB ain't for that!

Happy Easter from me too
Good luck with the budgeting! I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Aww how lovely to have all these visitors
Thank you for popping in.
Pwps- I bumped into my friend yesterday at the park! Was quite random but lovely as we are really good friends so we had a lovely chat whilst kids played
Her DH is in a different regiment to mine but they are both on Easter leave until next week so her hubby is doing school runs this week
Unsure about next week though. By the sounds of it the stress has caused her to get IBS....her hubby is away in another country from next month and if the house doesn't go through before he goes it could all fall through for them
I felt very sorry for her tbh, i've had similar stress from buying my first house and yet she has lots on top of it with job, kids and a hubby going away for 6 months. I take my hat off to her. I have told her i'm here should she need me for the kids but i'm not sure they even have the money as everything is tied up at the moment in house buying!
Plmbl- I think it would be great to steal you (and me!) away for a day. Imagine it....I reckon we'd all be bored after an hour with no stress, no kids and no one to watch :rotfl:
MTG- I told him this half way through his conversation as I always check on sayno first  so he has no excuse really and was too scared to say to him can I call you back *grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr* If it were me i would have been asking the man on the other end to call me.......guess that's the difference between me and DH though and it enrages me sometimes!! P.s food is lasting well so far. Pay day is next Tuesday so i'm wondering if I can eek it out until then. We've plenty of fresh stuff still in and I searched through everything to find not quite ripe fruits so it would last well :T
JAT- Never thought of that, will have a look for that thank you :T
And happy belated Easter, SA, Robin, PLMBL, SLM, and everyone else who reads my diary :easter_ba:easter_os:icotbaske:EasterBunMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. A-£200, S- £221.34. O-£200EF- £642.41/500

Morning!
Easter is over, DS1 is back to school (hence i've taken back control of the laptop!!) and the two little ones are off until tomorrow. It's raining again today but yesterday was ok so we took a walk with the dog through a country park (free) avoided the Easter egg trail (£3 per child!!!!) and parked 5 mins from the car park (saving £3 again!) so a nice free day :T and kids enjoyed themselves. DS2 has a sore throat and a bad cough and he's kindly shared it with me! I hope it's nothing long term as he's most definitely going back to school tomorrow
I spent £10 on D3benhams blue X sale on a cardigan for DD and a jigsaw puzzle for the kids (they are suddenly obsessed with turtle power) good saving on both and although I don't really have the money I thought I would buy whilst on offer
I did take 4 other things out of my basket so I think overall I did quite well
My bank account sits at £14  and pay day is a week tomorrow (EEk at that I thought it was a week today!!) what a lOOOOng month! I'm frustrated that I haven't been able to make any more payments to savings but I really have no more money to take from
Rental income will be due this week but as it's the first month I dread to think how much they've helped themselves too so am not counting on it being very much!
Kid's uniforms are all washed and ironed so i've nothing pressing that needs doing today so I think a chilled out day will suffice. My glands are all swollen and i'm feeling a bit run down thanks to ds2 sharing germs so some good food, good t.v and keep warm will be the order of the day.
Oh and yesterday we planted 5 cucumber seeds
I've put them in yoghurt pots until they sprout and put them under my cake stand with its plastic dome to act as a little green house :rotfl: I hope it works! Will let you know......I also have tomatoes to do but had no success last year with these so not too confident on trying again
Hope everyone is well and enjoyed chocolate! Take care

Morning DFW,
Sounds like youve had a nice few days, I love that you avoided spending about £9+ yesterday at the walk!
Our school holidays are a week behind yours as ours dont go back until next week. The weather has been kind to us though so its been easy to entertain them. I do always feel the month feels longer when the kids are off school, what we going to do in the 6 weeks  haha!!!
Enjoy your last day with them anyway xxMummytogirls x0
