  • Spends today were £7 on a new bin and £93 on food which will hopefully last well into next week! I've nearly caught up with washing and I made a cake :) .

Had an email confirming a space for my son on a youth leadership programme :) only two kids from his year were chosen so I'm super happy for him especially as he's not been there very long :T free to me and an excellent opportunity for him. I've told him he needs to revise this holiday for his upcoming exam in May. I seem to be more nervous than him, he's completely not bothered (which I hope won't mean a bad grade!)

Should be a lsd tomorrow, I need grass seeds which I forgot to get today! :)

    Good Morning :hello:

I finally got myself out of bed when the MIL rang! She got all her dates confused and can't come today (:j) BUT she can come next weekend and will also bring one of her other grandkids (who is an utter nightmare and doesn't listen to her Granny :naughty:) I am so glad DH will be home for that! I had pencilled in going to my dad's house so not sure how this is going to pan out. I would rather stay here as a trip to my dad's house is going to cost us 1) in petrol money 2) in hairs on my head as I generally feel like pulling them all out on the journeys there and back thanks to a car sick child (even with tablets) and a car sick dog and a teenager squeezed in the middle of two car seats. Hmmmm now i've written it down i'm convinced of staying here :o:rotfl: I may ask my dad if he fancies meeting up one day in London instead, the kids love the train and it would be easier.......

Anyhow, I do love to think out loud whilst typing...sorry :o

Thanks to me being lazy and forgetful, I missed the bin men this morning. Again. Will need to take a trip to the dump I think. I have bags upon bags outside, mostly recycling. I have emailed, called and popped into council places to collect recycling bags and noone had any. I asked what was I to put the recycling in and they told me the black bin bags. I told them they wouldn't be collected by recycling men and I was just stared at blankly. so all my recycling is to go to the landfill :( this annoys me so much! I will try and fit in as much as I can for the tip and swing past a shop on the way home to collect the grass seed. It looks like rain so if I can get it done pretty quickly then it will get a good watering.

Checked my spreadsheets for the gazillionth time this month :o:D couldn't find anymore cut backs to make, nor any more money :rotfl: I really really want to find the couple of hundred pounds to make my target! I'm pinning all my hopes on a tenant who actually knows how to pay their rent now (past history would tell me no such tenant exists :rotfl:).

Kids are being pretty well behaved, only one punch up this morning, over lego (of course! ) The dog is enjoying his new bed, so worth the extortionate price I paid :o However we've still got to work on him enjoying it between the hours of 8pm-8am; during this time it's like it has been set on fire and he must run as quickly as doggedly possible and get up the stairs to MY side of MY bed! And thenceforth he can't be moved until we get up in the morning *sigh*. I will win this battle, maybe.

ETA: I forgot to say i scoured the charity shops whilst in London with mum, she has a fantastic selection of them, i was in my element :T at least 12 on one road :j I found some lovely T3d baker clothes for the kids and got a few bargains but couldn't find any boys shorts nor girls summer dresses (well in the sizes I needed anyway!) So I ordered what they needed from g3orge last night as they had 8.4% cashback through TCB. Spent only £35 which I thought was fab, on 3 pairs of shorts for DS2, 3 dresses for DD, a jumpsuit for her and a maxi dress :T I thought that was great value and it's all money coming from budget so no loss to anywhere else wouldn't it be great if this would see the through the whole summer with no extra expense! They both have stuff from last year and i've sorted through what fits and what didn't and just got key pieces to mix and match with (and the maxi dress DD has been coveting since last year!) :)

  • Just spent the last few hours de-licing the entire family. Dd and myself had them the two boys were ok. Luckily dd was complaining of an itchy head which made me check. She had less than a dozen and I had 2 lol. I've cleaned all bedding just hope it stays dry outside as it's very cloudy! We had a letter home from school last week asking everyone to check for nits grrr. So annoying I hate them, hopefully that'll get rid of them for good. Spent £11 on a nitty grity comb an cheap conditioner. Plus side is we all have silky smooth hair now ;)

still no grass seeds though lol

My sympathies to you DFW! Many years ago DD got head lice - she was scratching her head and I said to her why are you scratching and she produced between her fingers the most enormous engorged louse I was nearly sick! Luckily no one else got them. Good luck with the de-lousing!
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Just caught up with the last month or so whilst I've been back down the rabbit hole.

    Take care.

I have de-liced DD three times now :o I think I got them all on the first go but every time she touched her head I got paranoid and would sit her back down to check again :rotfl:. Hate the little critters :eek:

*waves* Hi JAT hope you're ok! I've been rubbish keeping up with all the diaries so haven't caught up with you yet :o I keep logging on to update my own and then wandering off half way through a message!

Well a quick update as DH is in bed asleep, he did his duty last night rather than all day today so i'm happy :) Today will be spent just cleaning the house ready for MIL on Friday. Tomorrow we are going to get the train into london, i've priced it up and it's around £70 for all of us :eek: Not too impressed with that! I think it would be cheaper to put petrol in the car, pay congestion charges and park right in town for that price !

Yesterday I did my speed awareness course, i've done one before :o and yesterday's although slightly more fun was just as annoying. I didn't learn anything new, I did learn however that 5 people in the room had all been caught in the same stretch of road as me on the M25 and they have only just switched the cameras on in the last few months. I felt like the course was aimed at people who are reckless, speed all the time and have no care for others on the road. I think i'm a pretty good driver, the last time I went on a course I was caught doing 34 on a 30 right at the bottom of a hill (they placed themselves well there didn't they, i bet they caught loads who weren't even pressing on the accelerator!) and this time I guess was due to my not being aware enough to see what the speed limit was. I don't think there was one person in there who deserved the derogatory and condescending way we were spoken to and make to feel like criminals  Anyway rant over, it's done now and I was in the wrong but I think they would have gotten through to me anyway moreso if they had spoken to us nicer.

I need to find my keys so I can log on my bank account, i've not kept up with it for a few days and I think it's very low especially as I paid for a meal out the other day after the kids were whining on the way back from a day out (plus side was it was a late lunch so cheapish and I didn't cook dinner) I will need to borrow money from the emergency fund to pay for the day out tomorrow which isn't filling me with much hope of ever getting a decent amount into the pot! I should surely be due some rent hopefully this month though so I can then top things back up :o:)

I hope everyone is well, i've been trying to pop in and see how people are doing, but again I've lost count of the amount of half written messages i've written and then gone off to do something else! :rotfl: xx

On the upside (as i'm aware all i've done is moan :D ) the neighbours are away :T :j Long may that continue hey :p

    Hiya

Cheaper options for London might be driving to Westfield Stratford and getting the Tube. Parking all day is £5 at Stratford and Tube would be cheaper than the Train I think

Also, we often go to Redbridge (Straight down A12) and park there to get the tube into London. Car park is often busy there though so could might be best to check it out on way to Westfield

Have you got something fun planned in the Big City? I haven't been for ages and am missing my fix. Might need to tempt my Mum to go for the day!

ps If you park at Westfield, the Olympic Park is now open for public!

Kids could see where it all happened!
