So pleased you are actually able to put the heating on this year Piq. I remember well how freezing cold and fed up you were last year when you couldnt afford to put the heating. What a difference a year makes :D

Actually I still can't afford to put the heating on, I'll pay the final bill out the proceeds of the house. It is nice to have a warm house I'd forgotten what it was like! I'm using the radiators to dry washing too - mad washing frenzy going on here....
Good luck with the move, I'm sure it will all go smoothly, you sound very organised.

Hello you :wave: I am not organised, panicked more like, so much to do. Everyday I realise there is something I forgot to do/phone/pack/chuck out

Good luck with the move and yes pack the cafetiere, and use instant..I know you know my story;)

Only unofficially debt free. I'll throw nearly all the amount outstanding at the last remaining card and then officially clear it next month. The reason for not clearing it entirely is that it is too near the date when they take the money from my account, add on interest and all that sort of thing so I won't know exactly what's owing. Hopefully, though it will only leave a small amount that I can clear on the phone once I'm in the new place. Same goes for the overdraft.

I have cleaned and put the kitchen and bathroom rubbish bins in the garage ready for moving day. I am now hanging a dustbin sack on a door handle :D Looks very classy! My buyer wanted to buy my kitchen bin!!! Why??

I'm going down with a cold, just when I don't need one - not that you ever need a cold :rotfl:So I'm full of echinaecia [sp?] vitamin C and zinc. Does explain why I've found it so hard to get going over the last few days.

The mattress topper that arrived as an unexpected add-on to the mattress purchase is lush! Oh wow, it's like sinking into the softest, downy, cost comfort ever - I love it!! I'm definitely sleeping better with the new mattress, I still wake up during the night but at least I'm sleeping at time and I don't ache in the morning. Money well spent.

I haven't had any acknowledgement from the council tax folks, think I'd better chase up. I don't want to end up with arrears or a black mark. Must do the meter reading too. I did them last week but apparently I was premature......

Somehow I have lost my passport and driving licence, packed away somewhere safe - but where??

  • You do sound fantastically organised! I'm sure it will all go fine. Sorry you've got a cold. Sending positive vibes from all here; Jeeves waves a paw (normally a natty white, currently very muddy and "franking" all the important papers on the kitchen table - sigh) to Colin!

That mattress topper sounds heavenly, counting the days on your behalf until you are installed in your new home, you are having to give up such a lot, but hopefully life will be a lot kinder to you from now on and you and Colin will be comfy while you get to realising your aim of having the dear Captain back near to you.

I had to smile about "the cake's" comment about Jeeves franking the paperwork:D, miss MM obviously thinks that our plain sitting room carpet should be patterned - with MM paw marks! the floor is currently shielded by an old sheet, not a look to be found in Homes & Gardens, but needs must:eek:
Pleased that you are doing battle with the bugs by keeping warm and assaulting them with good things, hope they soon decide they are beaten.

  • Another set of healing, calming and above all Good Luck vibes for the first day of the rest of your life, and hoping all the days thereafter are happy ones. Well done for all you've achieved so far, all the stress will be worth it.

    xx

Hope it all goes well (though hoping for some excitement such as Colin packing a 'present' in one of the boxes before going to the cat hotel :D)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Wow that has come round fast! Best of luck with the move, I did that in February so can appreciate how much work goes into moving house!
I've had my immersion heater replaced today - got rid of the old copper 1960s tank and now have a nice brand new superinsulated tank in there. It's been so nice to turn on the taps and get hot water rather than have to boil a kettle every time!
Make sure you have a bottle of fizz and a phone number for the local pizza delivery to hand on moving day!
Hope Colin enjoys his holiday as well
