Hi Piq,
good news that you have managed to find something else - hopefully life will improve when you leave the current place. Hope last night went ok. x0 -
Fantastic news about the change of jobs. Good on you and it sounds as if it will suit you to a 'T'.
Onwards and upwards.0 -

Good luck in your new chapter the most important question will you be paid in plants! for your new garden0 -
Just a thought - are you owed any holiday? Perhaps you needn't work all week if you are owed any hours? I'm not sure how it works but just an idea. Looking forward to the updates from the new job and to know what they sell in their nursery. Lovely new start.0

Poor thing Piq. Well done on the new job. I would make up a completely fabricated new job - like on the Tills in B&Q - ie somewhere public which makes it harder for someone to carry this onwards.
No-one has asked yet where I'm going! I think they assume I'm going back to where I was before. I'll let them carry on with that train of thinking.*unlurking*
I'm sorry you've had such a rotten time.
But also, can we just take a moment to acknowledge you creating a new job by just walking in and being awesome? It's brilliant news.
And finally, do you work with children? I only ask because I can't believe grown adults will not speak to you because you are leaving a job. Furthermore a job in which they have done precious little to ensure safety of their employees? At least they're making it easy not to feel bad about the notice...
Hello lurker:D
I almost work with children, all blokes and I mean blokes. Not only blokes but the sort that have never really spoken to a woman before [apart from their mothers]Step away from the plants
Step away from the plants
Step away from the plants
Good luck with it all :T.
Yes, might be a problem, particularly with a garden that has nothing but lumpy weeds and patches of field grass...Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

No not a grandma yet :rotfl:Obviously, with all my children being unmarried that is unlikely to happen :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:virgins the lot of them!
Boys are very happy. Colin hates them. He has hissed, run home and sulked under the bed. Don't think he's going to be a very good guard cat. Both the Captain and Noah were more than happy to say hello even in the face of a puffed up hissing fat cat. Poor Colin...Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

It didn't go as I thought it would last night. At first my colleague sulked then became very upset, called the owner who came down. Both of them tried to change my mind, offered me day shifts only, part time hours, proper outside lights and the sacking of the club upstairs. However, I stuck to my mantra 'nobody should be afraid at work ever'
I made the owner promise not to speak to upstairs until I have gone as it can only make matters worse for me. I pointed out that for me it was so bad I had omitted my address on my resignation letter in case it was left lying around. Very sad that I had to do that, made it look very unprofessional.
As I said in an earlier post, they haven't yet asked where I am going, just assumed I am returning to Hellcow.
I am worried that I have chopped and changed jobs over the last couple of years and suffered jsa. I know it doesn't look good to future employers. However, the new one hasn't even asked for a CV. I do so hope that this is the job for me. At least it's day times only and although I will work weekends I will get two consecutive days off, Mondays and Tuesdays, which is fine by me.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
