    Poor Keren!!!

Try and get hold of some witch hazel as it is supposed to help with brusing. It might also be worth making a doctors appointment to make sure you've not done any real damage.

My Aunt did something similar and had broken her ribs.

ooh Keren, that sounds painful. Do make sure you're ok as Lucy said. If you can I would still go and get your hair done, that will give you a lift, take some ibuprofen or something anti swelly (and on the way home you can get a small choccie bar and a miniture vodka). If you don't feel up to going out tonight reschedule, your friend will understand. Just take it all easy and try not to do a million things at once, one thing at a time eh.

I've dropped out of tonight, I am just so, so exhausted.

My arm is the worst, it looks like the wrapper of a large bar of Cadbury's chocolate - bright purple and big!! I've taken brufen, but I've also taken sudafed and a large swig of benylin so i'll probably ask for green, pink and blue in the hairdresser.

I'm glad you've dropped out. I think perhaps it might be an idea to get yourself checked at the doctors Keren, that sounds like a pretty nasty injury to me. If nothing else they might be able to give you something stronger than brufen.

Green pink and blue are very trendy!!!

    Hi all
Not been around as we were burgled in the early hours of Wednesday morning, they got in though the patio doors in the living room, have stole the DVD recorder, all DVD's. CD's, my bag (with my cards and the £400 my dad gave me in) my bag also had the passbooks for the savings accounts and my chequebook etc in. It was a good job that Andy has colitis (I feel awful saying that!!!) but he had to get up to go to the toilet and heard them so he ran downstairs and they were trying to get the TV out of the patio doors but it was too big so it got stuck. They were at the outside of the doors so Andy couldn;t get to them because the TV was stuck in the doors and then he had an accident, panicked and they ran off after kicking my 11 year old cat, who is my baby, really hard in his side. Andy got cleaned up and rang police, had people here taking fingerprints and they have got some so hope they catch them. Its lucky Andy woke up as our house is strange, the living room and dining room are on the bottom floor then there are 10 steps to the next floor which has the kitchen and PC area and then another 10 steps to ours and Mollies bedrooms and the bathroom and then another 10 steps up to Sams room. I will never buy a new house again!!!!!!! Anyway, sam was scared to death to go to bed last night, my cat, Oscar, is at the vets where he stopped last night as he was just layed out and wimpering, they are running tests to see if hes got internal bleeding but I hope to god hes ok, just waiting for a phone call, I don;t know what Ill do if he isn;t. The insurance will cover us for all loss and damages, including the cash etc but I don;t know how long it will take so we are basically penniless at the moment and I am scared to go to sleep but more concerned about Sam and Oscar. They even took the childrens money boxes which were both bought for their births, its funny how its the small things I am more upset about. Sams moneybox was bought by my Great Grandma who was my best friend and she died on New Years Day 2000 - 2 months after Sam was born - I think she waited to see him as she was 102 years old. I miss her so much and hope she can see both Mollie and Sam somehow. My Mum and dad are in Turkey so we can't get any help from them and Andrews mum won't help, not even till we get our new cards so in a bit of a mess. But hey, it will be good for my diet as I can't buy a chinese.

Anyway, an explanation for my absence, will try and catch up later with everybody, read back a few pages

Oh my word Weller, I'm so so sorry. I was burgled 3 days before my daughter was born, they took everything, even the new baby clothes and my bag which was packed for the hospital. I know how violated you must feel.

Putting all of the awful stuff aside, are you able to access any money? I know you don't have cards but is there anything in the bank for you to buy food and essentials with? Sorting out the emotional stuff and the important stuff like feeding yourselves is as much as you can deal with right now.

I do hope your cat is ok, these people are utter scum.

When I was burgled it helped me to think of the people who did it as scared little teenagers, someone who isn't the big evil monster we imagine. It's a couple of spotty 18 year olds, on the dole who need cash to pay for their weed. The police told me that it is very very rare indeed for a burglar to ever go back to the house they have robbed. They stay as far away from there as possible. It stands to reason, if you had walked into a bank and robbed it, the last thing you'd do the next day is go in and pay your catalogue bill.

Get sam to help with things like fitting a few window locks or an alarm, even just an extra bolt on the door. This will reassure him that the house is secure and no one can get in. Get him to go outside with you or Andy, while the other locks the door and ask him to try to get in. He will see he can't get in, so if he can't no one else can.

If there is anything at all I can do to help you know exactly where I am. I will PM you because I really don't want you to deal with this alone.

    Oh Weller. Big Hugs.

I'm really sorry to hear your latest troubles. I was burgled many moons ago, and whilst not half as bad as your experience I know it's not a nice feeling.

I agree with what Toto says about letting Sam help with fitting new locks etc, and showing him that no-one can get in.

    Take care

    Pel.
