Can't be bothered to buy food and cook it; go out instead because you've had a very hard day and you deserve to relax and unwind. Don't want to do work; go play instead because life is far too short, Alex. Yes, my life is full of those little excuses that prevent me from just getting on and doing things, even when I don't really want to. Inevitably this ends up costing money in one way or another and the vicious circle starts all over again, only ending with me becoming more and more miserable.
Well said Alex :T. Do you really think the rest of us leap out of bed every morning full of motivation and joy? Well, speaking for myself, when the alarm goes off at 5.45 it will very much be a dragging myself out - but I do it because I want the freedom my salary will give me. In approx 2 years, 5 months and 5 days. Not that I'm counting you understand......
So, big 'sell the wardrobe' is starting tomorrow is it
? A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

hope you don't mind me de-lurking to say hello
Have you really paid off £19,092.56 in 6 months? Did I miss a lottery win or similar on your diary? Or is that just amazing! :T
Well done

Hi Fortune,
Of course I do not mind you de-lurking.
No, I'm just that amazing.
Seriously, I've sold a lot of "stuff" and two cards were with collections agencies so took full and final settlements of less than the amount owing.Well said Alex :T. I think most people have somewhat more in the way of "motivation" and "joy" than I do, some days I really quite struggle to even get out of bed never mind do anything productive with my time. You seem so positive and I do wish I was like that.
As for the big "sell the wardrobe", that's for another day - it's still full of stuff but I reckon I could list a cabinet that currently sits in the garage.

You have Little K Alex, remember the joy he brings :T.
Right - we'll settle for that. List it and I'll call off the PA - for nowAs for the big "sell the wardrobe", that's for another day - it's still full of stuff but I reckon I could list a cabinet that currently sits in the garage.

Your over night PA checking (ahem)
Wake up
Have a good breakfast with little K and Mrs K if possible
Take Little K to nursery, is there anything you can also do on this journey, so you save fuel?
Go out to garage and make path clear to cabinet
Does it need any work before sale.
Plan work
Have a cup of tea
Follow up one shop that you have shown stuff to (ie phone them)
Check what tools/ materials you need to get cabinet ready for sale. Do you have them already or do you need to get anything?
If you need to get anything, then get it when you go and pick up little K to save diesal.
At the same time, check what you have in for dinner, so that you can pick up anything you don't have when out.
Do teaching now if you have some. You can mention to the parents that you have some openings to see if they know anyone who might be interested. (free lesson as an incentive if they find someone?)
Make dinner so that Mrs K doesn't have to (brownie points especially if she is tired, has had a stressful day)
Bath little K and read him a story.
Another cup of tea to keep you going whilst you spend time with Mrs K or else do some prep work on the cabinet.
Go to bed at a decent time, ie before midnight!
Sleep the sleep of the just!
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Lannie: I understand where you are coming from now.

Sometimes I just cannot face working and the inevitable knock-backs. I know not to take any of it personally, yet at times hearing the word "no, thank you" for whatever reason really makes me miserable.
I think you may be getting close to the real problem there. The 'lack of time' seems a little bit of a red herring, if you don't mind me saying.
A lot of people find it hard to hear rejection - I certainly do. There's no way I could be a sales person, I'd hate it... but then I don't own my own business. Unfortunately it's something you've got to do. Maybe someone on here knows some tricks that would help.Mortgage when started: £330,995

chev: What do you think my name is, Superman? Seriously, I don't reckon I've ever done that much in one day.
gallygirl: You don't say.
Lannie: I have a lack of time when I get involved in other things as I do not like to start something new before I've had enough of the old. Unfortunately, that doesn't necessarily mean the old is finished.
Taking rejection is difficult, especially when it's "we really like your items but think they are too expensive".2018 totals:

Motivation-wise...I work for the simple reason it allows me to play (and helps deal with any issues that come up).
The things I enjoy are being with my partner, cheerleading, and LARP. I can't do the latter two without money
That's my motivation
Chev's given you a great post there. Hope you can keep your spirits up
