Got a £47 duvet for £4.99 - car wash mitts down from £6 to £1, lots of free stuff with Body Shop and half price offers.

When H&M were having sales and glitches got loads of bags and fleecy blankets etc etc.

Also got two talking huskies from Clintons after Christmas last year - think they were £20 each and I got two for £10.

From now on I am keeping a list of what I get and what the full price would have been - so I can see what bargains I have had.

One year, thanks to a tip on the Grabbit board I had piles of Lands End long stripy scarves - should have been £32 each but was getting them for under £2 each - that is what loads of people had that year!

Theres some bargains there, def agree that is a good idea, keeping the full price, i do that on bday and Xmas spreadsheets, and the savings really add up.

(excluding parents and daughter - there the expensive ones)

Bday - Spent £105 - actual cost would have been £469
Christmas Spent £367 - actual cost would have been £1390.

Oh Alex, sorry to hear about the row.

Any chance you could return the music stand and carpet set if they are purchases you regret?

mum2one: You're far too organised keeping spreadsheets and the like. However, I think we maybe losing track and need something like that to help.

Roland: I think I'm lucky to have a three year old whilst in debt.

Echo: The music stand is staying though I have an oak one to sell, so should get my money back. The carpet set takes three weeks to arrive and I'm thinking of cancelling the order as the car does not need them.

gallygirl: Not really sure what to do with the Triumph's carpet set, the current ones are OK but the new ones are of better quality and piped in light blue (as the seats are). It was meant to be a Christmas treat for the old girl.

In regards to the stand the oak one didn't look right in a room full of mahogany furniture so I'll be pleased to see the back of it.

Mrs. K. wasn't very happy and I'm positive I wouldn't like you cross!

By the "old girl', do you mean Mrs K? If so, and she isn't very happy, a better xmas treat would be to return them.

If you mean the car... I don't think she'll be upset at not getting a xmas present this year

If you really want them, why not ask Mrs K to give them to you for your xmas present?

Oh dear Alex .. Buying christmas presents for an inanimate object ? No wonder you ended up in debt my dear. Cancel them, and reorder them as a reward once you get debt free.

Hows the f&f offers going ?

We are sure what you should do! These ones won't make the car happy, aren't making Mrs K happy and they don't sound like they are making you happy either...

A direct swap on the music stands seems reasonable if you do get your money back soon.
