That does make things a bit easier. I do feel annoyed about how much we "waste" on food, as it could be going on things I'd rather be buying.

    .

Surely it COULD be going on paying back the money you owe . Im quite sure you could live without buying more "stuff" for about 10 years !

Yes when I worked I would put slow cooker on in morning.
If you prepare the veg the night before and leave in fridge its just a question of throwing it all in and switching on.

All the more reason to bung on the slow cooker in the morning. We're not letting you get away with it you know :rotfl:. The beauty of it is if you end up getting home 2 hours later than planned it won't be ruined - just extra tender :). Am sure you can find 10 mins in the morning - instead of coming on here for instance ;).

Feeling in a much better mood this afternoon despite the awful weather. I will tell Mrs. K. about the slow cookers this evening and we'll have a look into them. :)

Paying back the money I owe is being made from selling this off. :)

Well, I've actually been quite busy preparing a chicken and mushroom pie (yes homemade), we will be having that with cheese mash and leeks in white sauce this evening. If this turns out alright, I was thinking I could make a couple and put them in the fridge / freezer.

Just after 6. :) Then Mrs. K. is washing up (yes, that's her told) :rotfl: ;) and I have a piano pupil at 7pm. I'm actually really looking forward to eating this now and know where EVERY ingredient came from. :)

Tasted delicious and will certainly be having it again. :)

Unfortunately, if I do cooking it is all or nothing, put a lot of effort into this. On the plus side it did keep me busy and away from the idea of a drink.

ETA: Dinner has made me want to settle down for the evening, don't really want music pupil to turn up now. :rotfl:

    Your meal sounds yummy.
Regarding slow cookers, I understand that the well know internet selling site with name like very large river has a Morphy Richards slow cooker that you can put on the hob first to sear the meat, veg etc.(with the usual type you have to start things off in a frying pan) for the absolutely silly price of £23.00 delivered, if you had one of these it would really take only a few minutes to get a casserole type meal started. If I did not have a sufficiency of gadgets I would have ordered one today, fantastic price.

The dinner sounds lovely Alex. What else have you got in your repertoire?

You only really need half a dozen meals or so to get a good meal plan going on. You can totally do it!

And also when you don't eat out so much it is soooooo much more enjoyable. We're out this weekend as it's my birthday and I have been looking forward to having a roast at this particular pub over looking the sea for weeks - it's a real treat :)

Thank you! I actually thought they were much more expensive than that. :)

I have a go at most things if I'm in the mood for it, not really done pastry before today though. Mrs. K. actually thought it was quite impressive. ;)

Hope you have a nice birthday. :)
