Just start with 'in nomine patrus, et figli et spiritus sanctus and you'll meet the key criteria for the post. Illiteracy, dressing like a 12 year old when on a public counter, innumeracy, contempt for others and their feelings, and a desire to !!!! lick whilst not immediately essential should be considered desirably for long term career success.

That strategy might have worked for you but it probably won't work for everyone.

OP what is it you are being interviewed for? It may have a bearing on what you will be asked.

    Hey,

Just wondering how long after interview with NICS people were left to wait to told if they were unsuccessful / successful?

If you get to the next stage which is to complete Access NI then how long did that take after completing form etc to get an actual job offer?

Do NICS jobs require references? It makes no mention of this in the candidate pack!

    Thanks
  • Hi Lantanna,
From my interview to getting that letter re Access NI form, it took them 6 weeks! I was given up by then!
Access NI form only took a week to get cleared, but then I had to wait ages to get clearance from my department on salary etc etc.. (apparently it differs depending on how badly they need the position filled)
How was your interview?! I don't think they ask for references.. Not in my case anyways.
Finally, I have a start date!! (in Oct) So over all it took me good 4-5months! fingers crossed it was worth it!! Feel really nervous!!
    All the best!!
  • Just out of interest, did you get the 1st choice of the area which you applied for?

Stabilo - thanks very much for that info! I thinks parts of it went quite well and parts of it not so well lol. So I really don't know. I hope the good made up for the bad! Guess I would just like to know now though so I can put it out of my head etc.

If I did get it I wouldn't be wanting to start until Jan / Feb of next year as I have exams in Jan and want to get Christmas out of the way for a few reasons. So I am actually hoping that if I did get it - it would take ages to get sorted etc.

I thought though that they had to let you know the outcome within two weeks of the last interview date though?

Also they emailed me the interview invite so I am assuming that the unsuccessful / successful letter or Access NI next bit would be emailed to me as well?

Thanks for your replies just so to feedback to let others know - I was unsuccessful and received the letter by email the day after the final interview.

So I'm guessing sometimes they can be very efficient..........
  • Aww sorry to hear that Lantanna!
I couldn't tell you how many rejections I've had since I've started looking. I was so close to giving it all up and move elsewhere. It's not nice but it's their loss.. The right job is waiting for you somewhere!! Cheer up and wishing you all the best!

northernireland10 - Yes I did get into my first choice area! but to be honest I wasn't that fussed about travelling.. a job is a job.. can't be picky these days!
