debtfreeoneday said:I agree with comments about community / social etc. we’ve not long moved and are making a bigger effort than I guess we would usually to integrate ourselves. Not for everyone I know, but it’s just nice to have people to stop and chat with or those who take an interest in your life. I’m a big believer in you get back what you put out. So even though it’s outside my comfort zone at times I’m really trying.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Still reviewing my year and thinking about next year and I wanted to thank everyone who has read, posted and encouraged me this year.
This year has in many ways been tough, but, it has been made a lot easier by the support of others both in real life and on here. The community on here has been really encouraging informative supportive and times given me the swift push forwards I needed so a very genuine thank you all.
Today I am simply exhausted so the horses are in the field and I have curled up and watched "its a wonderful life" I feel I "should" do something but the reality is I'm tired headachy and everything is done that needs to be for the season. I have a couple of small gifts to drop off and so I'm going to take my January book club book to the sofa for a read. I think Clarence's message in the book to George "no man is a failure who has friends" is so apt. I feel I have friends and a very different life to that I started this diary with.
Thank you all for being here xx

At this time of year there is nothing to ‘do’ but hibernate, if you look at the animal kingdom, so curling up on a warm and cosy sofa with a good book sounds like a plan 😊

That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Thank you. I appreciate the kindness and posts especially at such a busy time of year for everyone.
I had a lovely day. Watched one of my favourite old b/w movies (Miracle on 34th Street) then walked WattyDog and out with Charming Cob. Only just got back in time as the route took longer than I thought. Was out late enough to see Christmas lights come on by which time I was fretting about being out after dark but all good. Cooked a turkey breast and gravy with garlic sprouts and roast potato and carrots for me and the VNM then went to see his mother in the evening for an hour. Such a relaxing peaceful day
Today got up late, watched the Call the Midwife Christmas Special and will now quickly walk WattyDog before getting ready to meet girlfriends for a Boxing Day lunch and afternoon in a pub. Tbh I'd quite like to ride but I got up too late!
Oh and a word to the wise on here: Muck Boots are awesome. So lovely that the VNM is planning buying himself a pair too!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

My new diary is here3 -
Reflective morning. I've been reading on here and enjoying that.
Downloaded the Tina Turner Happiness Becomes You. It has been suggested a couple of times in various places so I think it is a meant for me read.
I've realised how much the trauma of the last few years took out of me. I've been going to bed early and sleeping a lot. Sometimes I just sit and do nothing but think and dream and have ideas and look forward to me new year. In the past New Years have come and gone but for what seems like an age I am really "looking forward" to 2024. For me, it really is a new start.
I've plans to finally declutter and live more simply. I crave more peace and time with my animals and my outside space. I've savings to rebuild and a house to renovate and dreams to strive for and friends to enjoy.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
