Lovely morning. Took Charming Cob to the local forest (I bought a permit to ride in it) and spent a wonderful hour plus wandering about and then back to the horsebox for a coffee. Grateful for the VNM who drove and for the life I haveMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

it feels like 2024 is going to be a happier exciting new world for youDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

It has been a lovely time, although work a bit relentless. Still that is what keeps me afloat so I am grateful for that.
The blocked site app is working really well. My sleep is improved as I've simply blocked all the sites I might play games on. So rather than saying I will just play 3 games them go to sleep (it was rarely just 3) I now read a book and go to sleep.
Whilst at work the sites are simply blocked and the pop up reminds me of my goal to waste less time on them. That was an investment in myself really worth making.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

My online delivery came yesterday. No dog food. No frozen peas. I really needed dog food so I'm now going out to look for some. For next year I need a better way of buying the dog food!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I find Zooplus to be great for pet stuff. They have a wide range, free delivery over a certain amount, a savings plan (pay a small fee (£2.49?) and save a percentage - details escape me, but definitely worth it for us), loyalty points which stack up really quickly and can be used for treats, *and* you get TCB - it seems bonkers really! Also the cheapest place for lots of stuff! (I am not on commission!)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

@themadvix Brilliant. i settled down with my cup of tea after spending a couple of frustrating hours shopping and saw your post so I hopped on Zooplus which I've used to buy horse wormers and never really paid attention to their rewards scheme. i had enough points (which expire in 2 days time) to get WattyDog a bag of treasts and a kong toy and buy him some dog food. With TCB.
Result! He now won't run out of food for some time but that is certainly a lot less frustrating than going shopping or my online delivery system.
I want to reduce my Ocado shopping anyway so this is a win win all around.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I have to say that I really don't like food shopping online. I mean who wants a 4 pinter of milk that only has 4 days on it. At least they always had the whisky though. I had to do it whilst I was recovering from my hip op & wasn't able to drive. I am so glad I am not normally dependant on them but I expect in the future I will be, but hope it is the very distant future.

Another lovely day. Went to the forest again for an hours ride, the joy of pottering around the forest is one of the highlights of my year. Got my paths muddled so was not out for as long but still a joyous time. The VNM caught up on videos he wanted to watch in the lorry while I rode and then we came back for lunch.
As it got late I went to see a pal that I haven't seen for some time as I posted on an equine face book group about lighting for an arena. I've been mulling over lighting mine but the lights are just sooo expensive. However pal had an ingenious solution that she shared and suggested I went to see. Really impressed with her idea and could light arena for under £400 so I could ride in the dark. Home for dinner, one of my fast home cooked ready meals from the freezer and now a lovely evening catching up on here and reading a novel.
Also done a review of the year which I'll share hereMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
