That sounds such fun! On so many levels - I'm so pleased it went so well for you2023: the year I get to buy a car2

Thank you KC.
Showered charming cob after his ride this morning and realised the horses also have too many "products" in terms of shampoos and soaps etc so along with me on a "use up campaign" the horses are too. No new "products" to be purchased by either of us. I have joined the no new toiletries thread but am sure they are all better groomed than me but it has made me motivated to use up what I have that has not been donated. Am not sure i will mention the horses have so many products they overspill a large bucket LOLMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Village safari today, where people put stalls outside their houses to sell. Not as many stalls as in past years and not as many buyers either but still had a lovely walk around and bought a couple of candles to add to the stash a lovely vintage crystal decanter which is now in the bathroom full of bubble bath and best of all an oblong table and 5 garden chairs for £50. It looked a bit scruffy sitting amongst the stuff for sale but so much cheaper than anything i have found second-hand. Asked the VNM if he could pop over and help me pick it up and it is now sitting amongst the apple trees on the drive and looks gorgeous. Really looking forward to restoring it by cleaning up and repainting.
On days like today I feel so happy. Wandered around the safari with girlfriend and our dogs, drink in the social club then back later to pick table up and it is all so easy and relaxed I cope really well.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

That sounds like a lovely day! I can see why you have fought so hard to stay in your village - some lovely community activities throughout the year and friends close by5

Thanks @Ramouth The girlfriend I was with has recently moved out of the village, just a few miles down the road to another and she was saying she really missed the sense of community and how when she walked around so many knew her and that her village is just not like this one. I told her she just needed to do the house up and move back. She isn't far away but it was interesting to see how just a few miles away things felt so different.
When and/or if I move I will investigate the local area. A busy village would be key for me I think.
Have investigated the "doing up" of the table and chairs and am now thinking I might actually invest in sand blasting all the stuff off to get a really good finish as it is that or use a lot of solvent and pressure washing. The table and chairs cost so little but I really want a great finish. It was not in the budget but I found a similar set on line and was horrified by the cost! If I can do them up really well they should outlast me and I won't have to move in out of the bad weather apparently (sales pitch from the chap I rang for advice).Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

If they are metal, get them powder coated too - after sand blasting - then you won't need to keep repainting themSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

My business uses Quickbooks. I love the desktop version. I have had to migrate to Online as they are closing desktop. A lovely man on the desktop helpdesk told me it has something to do with HMRC refusing them the new accesses unless they closed it because so many people used old versions and HMRC thought they were not compliant.
What a p in the a. The transfer should take 2.5 hours so allocated Monday afternoon and evening. My Tuesday afternoon I was in tears. I have worked consistently on the transfer since last Monday often into the evenings and worked Saturday and Sunday. The sodding programme is still not correct. The only bright spot is my lovely accountant who I messaged on Sunday when I was at my lowest point and as soon as he started to work he offered to help, although he admitted he didn't really understand either and was appalled by what they have done.
I fluctuate between tears and overwhelm. Its why I have not been on here. Am hopeful by tonight I will have fixed most things. This afternoon is schedule to be reconciling bank (will probably just do journal entries as the banks are a mess showing payments previously cleared from 2013). Then tomorrow can do VAT. I really didn't need this stress on top of everything else. Am surviving with tea, chocolate, wine a good breakfast and evening meal if I can manage to cook without feeling sick.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Watty you have my sympathy.. I ran my own business for many years using a really old version of Sage. I knew what to do, it ran on my desktop and there were no ongoing fees. What wasn't to like. I sold my business 4 years ago and am so glad I did with all the changes being forced on honest people who filed their VAT on time, paid it on time, paid all their taxes when they were due and now have HMRC biting at their heels when it's hard enough running a business as it is.I dreaded all the changes that my accountant could see coming down the line. I'm sure there are a lot more people tempted to do cash jobs and not declare them as being honest can be an accounting pain in the !!!!!!.Hope you manage to resolve it.Edit to add, I can remember being in tears when trying to get my very simple website to update and a friend having to scoop me up and sort it out.Make £2025 in 2025
