This Time I'm Really Going To Do It

All plans to raise cash on hold due to the snow and freezing weather. Recovering from surgery horse has to have his hay soaked and everything is frozen or freezes so quickly. I hug him, tell him I'm glad he is still here with me, and lug yet another soaked hay net into the house to defrost.
The mess is unreal. I'm exhausted. Wattydog finally got a decent walk thanks to the VNM (Very nice man). Panic attacks have returned. Not sure what I'm going to do about that. Had a panic attack on way to hospital for a routine check up on me as I missed the junction, and another one as the car slipped on ice.
The only bright spot is that the ex hasn't been seen for a while. I think he is snowed in somewhere like work. Long may he stay there!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Oh Watty it does sound like you are having a tough time! So glad you have VNM in your life.We are all routing for you!4

@Watty1 what a time you're having! I'm no doctor but think panic attacks are an understandable reaction to your situation; you're stuck for now but not for ever. What's the next step? I think focusing on the moment, taking care of yourself and the animals is helpful. @Ramouth is right; we are all in your corner. Love Humdinger xx3

I couldn't make this up. A burst water pipe in the haybarn has soaked a lot of hay. I couldn't find the stop !!!!!! because the flail mowing of the summer had cut the marker stick down (it is in the middle of the field). Water everywhere and I am soaked. Finally found stop !!!!!! and switched it off. Identified where pipe has bust. Rang VNM. To his credit he turned up and helped.

Tackled the ex over dog care, he is just taking the dog when suits him but rarely walking him and I'm struggling with work and nursing. He said he would walk the dog but frankly the walk of yesterday would have been more suited to a handbag dog than the rather large boisterous WattyDog (sigh).Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Have had the bill from the vets. Very surprised that it came in under estimate and less than I expected. I note there is a 5% discount if I pay before a certain date so I will call and see how that works re the insurance as I can't see the insurance will cough up their share before due date and I have already filled in forms for the money to go direct to vet so will call vet.
Unsurprisingly the insurance company want a lot more info as they seek to find wriggle room. Frustratingly I have lost horse vaccination record so I need to find that. Clearly insurance company looking to check I have not changed vet practices (which of course I have as the vet we were previously with was not great with Most Handsome).
Christmas however is most MSE by virtue of the fact I have been so busy. I have sat down and explained to a few friends there are no Christmas cards or presents because I have been overwhelmed and I'm sorry and they were all very kind. I have purchased one gift for a neighbour and something for the VNM and that is it.
Christmas dinner is coming from a meal delivery company as is a meal for 2 which I just shove in oven. I did want to cook for any friends who are on their own but the VNM wanted his mother invited and I bulked at that because she has in the past been really rude to me. And, the ex might be in the house and I can only cope with so much at the moment so its a minimal prep meal for 2 and the VNM can join me if he wishes, or, I'll have left overs. So a very cheap Christmas. (The two presents I did buy are personalised photo Christmas Tree decorations which were inexpensive but hopefully the recipients will think thoughtful).Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

A very sensible approach to Christmas this year - I’m sure everyone will understand and be glad that you are focusing on the important task of keeping yourself well in difficult circumstances.
Re: vets, we have found ours to be extremely helpful both for providing records and actually for filling in and submitting insurance forms. We tend to pay for the treatment and then claim back as we have to pay 25% excess but know that the vet practice receptionist can also claim directly from the insurance co if we wanted them to.4 -
Thanks @Ramouth Part of the problem is I switched vet practices a year ago and the insurance company are questioning why and wanting medical records but the original practice I moved from then went out of business.
I rang vets and they were super helpful. I am going to pay the full bill as I get a 5% discount which is quite a considerable sum. Popped the whole lot on my credit card. Also CC has cashback which is only a small % but nevertheless worth having on a bill this size. I'm really happy with the bill, funny that. I have my gorgeous horse with me so all good.
Will now set about finding and filling in the umpteen forms they require for the additional information.
