Not sure Mr Watty really gets the concept of MFW. Very keen on the idea and on me making overpayments but I'm not sure he gets where the money comes from bless him!
He wanted to go out for dinner last night. So I thought of somewhere inexpensive and downloaded a voucher - only to get there and find the place hadn't got a chef in so wasn't dong food ????
Ending up walking to all local places under the guise of checking menus but actually I was also checking prices :)
Very nice meal out and £35 spent.
Sadly I couldn't help but calculate that was 3.6% of the next overpayment I wanted to make!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Watty, that simple calculation merely shows the level of addiction you now have!!
My only worry for you is what will your addiction move to once that £26k has been obliterated?
    MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......

:rotfl: That's easy - I will be still on this board as the emergency fund will need rebuilding. Then there will be the building work I'd like to do here if we get pp ..... I think I'll find something don't worry:)

There's always something to work towards, even when the mortgage is gone!

Glad you are feeling good at the moment, Watty:)

There is a very odd smell coming from my wardrobe  I have been trying to ignore it to no avail. Yesterday opened doors wide and opened window. This did nothing to improve it

Today I have emptied wardrobe and am now washing everything including emptying pockets etc.

I am suspecting an old dog treat may be the cause but I have yet to find it :o

My farrier swears by "silver feet hoof balm" and puts it on the boys whenever he comes out or he recommends Kevin Bacon hoof dressing. The Silver Feet is actually quite good stuff and I do keep meaning to buy it but the boys hoofs are in great shape so it doesn't seem a need. But I bet after this dry spell the boys will need it too so maybe will buy some as well.

A cheap solution is cheap vegetable oil from the supermarket (around 30p) but don't use this when it is sunny as it will fry the hoofs and make it worse. I used this for years on my last horse and it really did work. (Farrier's dad recommended).

Offending item located in wardrobe and removed. All items washed and line dried. Now have a mountain of work to do. And all for a couple of bits of dried fish that didn't get eaten and remained in a pocket :rotfl:
