  • So thought I'd give you an update on where I'm at.

Earlier this week I went for test drive of a Juke - I was very impressed.

I took out the top of the range model it was quick, no issues with handling. I had a friend in the back who's fairly tall had no issues with space, the boot space looked good - I'm confused by some of the reviews I've read saying its small.

With regards the cost, it has nothing to do with what I can afford - I was looking to pay as little as possible, thats not because I cannot afford it, its because I'd prefer to spend that on other things but also have a nice car. - Strange argument.

So at the minute this is the front runner. Any other recommendations on what to test drive? Competitively priced and not a bad size?

If not think I'll be going ahead with getting myself one of these, well its between this and a Vectra :)

    It is small...

I was going to say it depends on what you compare it against, but it doesn't really - it's small compared to pretty much anything else.

Most conventional small cars will have more boot space - corsa, fiesta et al...and it's got much less space than any medium sized car (astra, focus). It will have more space than a smart car, or an Aygo, something like that...but that's not much of an achievement...

The thing that gets you is the height as much as anything else...it starts a lot higher than most boots...so where you might be able to fit three bags on top of each other in a corsa, you could only fit two in the juke.

That said, the shopping goes in it, our gym kits go in (for 4 people)...it depends what you want it for...if you don't carry much stuff (like us) it's probably fine.

Lift up the liner in the boot and there is loads more space underneath. including space for a spacesaver spare that is occupied by a tube of gunk.

I would say either go for the basic or go for the accenta+ premium pack - that gives you the sat nav and rear camera, the gadgety stuff that makes a juke fun to drive.
