Nissan Juke

Hey,
After some advice, I am looking to get rid of my old clio which I have been having problems with it and now just throwing money at it to fix it. I am looking at getting a Nissan Juke.
I have spoke to one of the Nissan dealerships and would be able to get a couple of deals:
Entry level (visia) - £105 per month
Top of the range (Tekna) - £149 per month
Anyone got any views on Jukes? Positives and negatives of each model (not just the price).
Thanks in advance

Decent enough car. Check out www.honestjohn.co.uk for a (reasonably impartial) review.
They seem to be marmite cars. People either love them or hate them, so expect lots of 'oh they're soooo ugly' comments on here.
Brother in law had one, loved it. Probably make most sense in entry level spec. He went the whole hog with the 1.6T engine and full leather.0 -
I fail to see the point in them, a Micra with pumped up suspension.
It's not a proper 4x4, so no benefit there, it's got a high centre of gravity, which will compromise handling, its worse than a normal car in the summer, worse than a normal car in the winter.
Expensive for what they are, no room inside, poor boot space, rear seats (apparently) not big enough for adults.

They just fashionable (as are most "crossovers") right now, with the school run mums.
Don't forget to buy in "recession white".“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Not sure why you linked to a review that seems to contradict everything you said? "The Nissan Juke is a striking small SUV that’s well equipped and attractively priced. Strong desirability helps keep resale values high" and "The Nissan Juke is a refreshingly different small car that successfully blends supermini with SUV. Many rivals are more practical and better to drive, though."
They rate it a solid 3 stars, and owners - ie, those people who have spent time with the car rate it on average at four stars.
As with regards to size, no they're not massive in the back, but thats no their purpose and they are supermini sized. I'm 6 ft tall and have had journeys in the back with no issues. I wouldnt imagine i'd be any more comfortable in any supermini sized car?
Car handles fine. My BIL kept his 1.6T between the hedges for three years having written off most of his previous cars including a Clio 197 on a straight road, with no other cars around, so it must be reasonable at least.
In winter if nothing else you've higher than average ride height so better in floods, snow, and also the raised seating position means you've a better view of the road ahead.
It can be bought with 4 wheel drive so it IS a 4x4 if you so desire.
They can be bought from £10,995 out of main dealers, so cheap for what they are - unless you can find us a better crossover for less?0 -

What are you on?
That's a sh*t review........Practicality isn’t great and many will find the driving position uncomfortable. Interior quality isn’t a strong point and neither are fuel economy nor emissions. It isn’t particularly good to drive, either.
So it's impractical, the driving position is cr4p, the interior is poor, it's bad on fuel economy, it's not fun to drive.
Everything that a car should be, it is not. It's can't even drive on snow, which is going to leave a lot of stupid people stranded as winter rolls in.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Uh-huh.
"Practicality isn’t great"
Yes, its a small supermini sized SUV.
"many will find the driving position uncomfortable."
So check it suits you before you buy rather than taking the word of someone on the internet.
"Interior quality isn’t a strong point"
But its not a weak point either - i dont think any bits dropped off my BIL's OR any other recent nissan i've driven?
"and neither are fuel economy nor emissions. "
So average fuel economy then - hardly surprising for a small SUV
"It isn’t particularly good to drive, either."
Neither are most superminis and again hardly surprising for a small SUV
Leading them to conclude (their summary, not mine) - "The Nissan Juke is a striking small SUV that’s well equipped and attractively priced. Strong desirability helps keep resale values high" and "The Nissan Juke is a refreshingly different small car that successfully blends supermini with SUV. Many rivals are more practical and better to drive, though."
And for OWNERS to give the car 4 out of 5 on average.
Did a Nissan Juke run over your dog or something?0 -

Can you point us towards a better new crossover for less?
Or is it easier just to criticise?0 -
I didn't want to like them, but to be fair, they're not a bad drive. Although it did take me ages to get the seat adjusted right. The interior space is quite disappointing though bearing in mind the car's footprint.
Very much a marmite car, I do fail to see the point in crossovers, I tend to believe that they deliver the worst of both worlds, but I've never been into fashion, nor am I the target market for them, so I can't really comment on why people like them.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -

Seriously? is that the best you can come up with?
Nobody buys a new car and then after all the BS excuses they spouted before buying it, turns around and says "actually it's rubbish". Sometimes they MIGHT admit their mistake 10+ years later. This is why many of the "best car" surveys come out with terrible (but popular) cars at the top.
Even my mate now admits that the Merc C320 he bought was awful, but at the time he would have defended wasting £18'000 on this 2nd hand pile of junk, to the death.
To the point that people will recommend rubbish cars because their opinion is clouded by all the hype surrounding it.
But whatever, that's all just "main stream" consumerism, where hearsay, gossip and social influence rule over common sense.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

The main downside is the oddly shaped boot. If all you carry is a few bags of shopping and a suitcase once a year not an issue, if you need to carry four people with luggage avoid it.0

So basically, What Car? gave it a solid 3 Stars, Autoexpress give it a solid 3 Stars, owners gave it four stars, HonestJohn.co.uk who are as close to independent as we're likely to see, give it four stars out of five, but you're qualifying out all of that for various reasons, and instead we should only listen to your subjective opinion on a car you've never owned and probably have never driven?
Brilliant!
