Monday Mayhem ~ Krazy Kitchen
15 Minutes..
Clear the floor of unnecessary gibble
Mop/hoover the floor
30 minutes to spare..
Shine the sink and draining board. Make those taps shine and twinkle..
Wipe down worktops and wipe down all small electricals.
Rehome anything that is out of place
Got an hour...
Clean inside the microwave. A good tip is to heat up a cup of water in the microwave - the steam shifts all the yukky stuff on the microwave
Clean the window and windowsill. Rehome anything that shouldn't be there
Sort through your cookery books/magazines. Are there any that you don't need that are just taking up space? Rehome them to the local charity shop...
15 fling boogie
Extra challenge:
- Deweb, don't forget those corners
- Clean light fittings/switches
- Wipe down the doors
- Empty those smelly bins
- Clean that cupboard under the sink!!!

Lovely Lodger has stripped her bed, so I guess that's it. Very sorry she's moving out, but I totally understand why and I'm settling for 'It's been absolutely lovely having her with us for as long as she's been here.' (She's only moving about 100 yards away!)
Stairs 'Carpetted' prior to vacuumming, and bathroom cleaned. I've got a bag of stuff for the CS and a box of things to go up to the attic. In truth, I'd like to let them go completely, but I feel I shouldn't, so this halfway house solution has worked before. (Chest of drawers, to box, to attic for a year, to CS).
Director R is due for a flying visit today with his wife, so I'd like the bits they'll see to be relatively presentable (including me). Once they've been and gone with OH to where they'll be doing some work, I can go to the cottage and clean it, put some flowers in to welcome the owner back and then finish flying here.Better is good enough.0 -
Sorry to hear your news Jools - little and often is often the best way. I'm still tackling Mum's stuff 2 years on, but I try to remove a couple of bits each month - Sunday was her old Burberry umbrella which used to live on the parcel shelf in the back of her car. Today's thread has got me thinking about all the photos I "inherited" from her. Over 3,000 pics of Mum and Dad in unknown sunny climates either drinking, eating or standing in a Marina with a luxury yacht behind them
We'll both get there in the end. What's the rush?

joolz so sorry to see your news, welcome back
Right, yes, I am in.....going to take lappy down into the kitchen.
DS is back at nursery today albeit I wasn't sure he was going back this week as EX was on holiday but decided not to take them anywhere, more of a staycation with him driving up and down a couple of days a week.

DD3 has been nagged by the EX to clean her pit as she has been dumping all her clean washing all around the room without putting it away - woohoo a bit of solidarity should get the job done.
DD1 has been told she has free reign of WM and TD in utility for next 24 hours and I expect her to get all her washing upto date, while everyone elses backs up......as we are into the final countdown for her going back to Uni on 14th, I want her to wash and pack away as she goes along to save any last minute panic stations - so far it looks like she has done two loads (but I must admit I did sneak in a big boil wash of DD4 nappies at stupid o'clock which are now blowing on the line nicely
Decorator is here ATM painting my freshly plastered ceiling, very tempted to borrow some money and get him to paint the rest of the downstairs so at least it looks clean and done.
Right, time for brew and then I WILL get some more done in the [STRIKE]grease pit[/STRIKE] kitchen :rotfl:The cold never bothered me anyway0 -

Crap - wish I hadn't rang the Tax Credits now - All payments have stopped until my sole application goes through - could take THREE WEEKS before I receive any entitlement and there may be an overpayment to repay. The joys .....!Decluttering junk and debt in 2016

I've done some 'for work' work and finally looked at the website for the comp to see when DD is back at school. She'll be thrilled - Weds and Thurs are inset days; Friday is for the newbies (Y7 and Y12 only) and she isn't in until Monday!
I've emptied the DW
