  • Hello

Been a terrible 2 weeks but on the up hopefully. Work now know about my depression and have been amazing about it. Trying to change things and look at things differently. Still feel v fragile and no better off money wise yet :(

  • Bit worried now I might have to have time off work. I have not felt this burned out for a long time. Exhausted and the winter just feels worse than it ever has. I hate the dark. I am just coming home from work and crying / going to bed at the moment. Motivation has gone. :(

  • Just in case anyone read the above post yesterday, it was a really dark moment. :( Have been better today. I know I have to get through the weekend so I am going to try and structure my time - I really struggle when I don't have structure. So I need to make a plan. I am going to try to get some work done tonight so I don't have any to do this weekend which should be good :)

    Debt-free and Proud!
Hi there, are you having any treatment for your depression at all? It sounds like you are really bogged down with things and need to be kind to yourself. By all means get your work done tonight but don't overdo it, make some time to just sit and rest.

Your soa is fine and shows a healthy surplus. Sure you could get debt free quicker but it doesn't sound like you are in a good place for serious debt busting right now.
What I'd focus on right now is the basics. Set yourself a few little goals for each day.
These might be making a packed lunch each day so you don't have to buy lunch out or maybe doing the washing and pegging it out so saving electricity. Maybe meal planning? or maybe it's about having a certain number of no spend days a week. Maybe make a chat and tick off the things you have done. I probably would try for maybe 3 things a day so nothing too massive. Also do try and plan some exercise/getting out of the house/talking to friends in if you can.
Exercise is actually really important. You hate it, you can't think of anything worse and you feel tired but actually you are mentally tired not physically tired. Exercising helps relieve stress and gets the happy hormones buzzing around and improves blood circulation so hopefully it should mean you sleep better etc etc. It really is important.
Rome wasn't built in a day so it's about small little habbits that build up over time.

So for example, tomorrow is Sat. What 3 things do you want to achieve tomorrow? maybe a call to a friend? a meal plan and 1 other thing (maybe a walk) ?

    p.s I hate winter too.
