Hi guys
I have not posted on here in so long. I was doing really well, and then have gradually slipped back into old habits. I have been reading a little about how life is about discipline, and you can achieve anything if you have discipline. And I don't have it. I will do anything to avoid pain it seems and it is undermining my entire life.
Probably having a bit of a pity party tonight. There are so many things that I would like to do in life but I find it really hard to look at my money. Ruled by fear I guess. I really want to be a going concern and move my life forward and be able to afford my life. But I know it is going to take a lot of facing up to things and facing up to pain. I could do with some help and encouragement really I guess. I am tired of feeling like this. It is the one thing in life that makes me really unhappy and makes me feel like a fraud with a big secret
. I know I should do my SoA again etc but finding it hard to face

You can't begin to fight back until you know exactly what you are fighting. You have been on the forum a while so you know there are some horrendous debt stories out there and some incredible recoveries. Even if you don't post the SOA, do it for yourself so you know what you are dealing with. Nothing will change until YOU change SOMETHING. You can do it, you know it. Avoidance will not allow you to make a change in the right direction. Wishing you some strength.Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0

I think most on the forum were like it to start with but then there comes a time to face up to reality, it won't go away unless we work to reduce it.
Like HOK3Y said, there are people on the forum who have had much worse debt and cleared t, and there are others who have worse debt and are just starting their DF journey.
Unless you sit down, work out what's owed and put a plan together to tackle it, you will be feeling like this for a long time. Only YOU can make the change.
You can't keep your head in the sand forever, if you post your SOA others can help you
I hope, one way or another you get sorted out, there are lots of people to help you on here

Still haven't faced it. Trying to keep coming back to here to remind me / encourage me.
Bit pathetic how I need encouragement to do something basic like help myself!
I find it hard though.
Sorry, not the most inspiring thread so far is it

Whilever you don't face it, you are imagining the worst... It could be better than you think... Only one way to find out!
Top tips from me
Keep an honest spend diary
Start saving for something - a little at a time (Christmas?)
Check your bank every day! Know what's going in and out
Come to this forum every day - there are people who have cleared phenomenal amounts of debt, true inspiration is all over this site.
I hope you find the courage

I too suffer from "Ostrich Behaviour".....I stick my head in the sand and pretend it will all be okay.....but I know it won't....and I'm self-employed so I HAVE to Work but sometimes I just can't make myself....but I HAVE to....
So, the first thing to do is to look at your SOA....And figure out EXACTLY where you are....and then you know where you are and it's only UP UP UP from there!!
Remember that Martin says there is NO Debt that is unsolveable....so you CAN do it....Just do it one step at a time...
We're all here for you.... x0 -
Boof thanks guys that is very kind and just what I needed this morning when I'm feeling a bit down. Sometimes I wake up and my first thoughts are not good. I guess having a chest infection and the rain this morning and tiredness (got in from work at 10:30 last night) don't help. I feel like checking out sometimes. Motivation for work goes when my energy levels are low.
I like the bit about no debt being unsolveable etc. Maybe I can try to do my SoA this weekend and then start being more positive!!Debt paid off: £19,999 Debt remaining: NONE!!:money::eek::):j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
I really like the above posts. Thanks again LMD & DH
