    Sorry for the delayed reply, I'm not on here much at the weekend. What's going on?

    I think the best way to start is with the SOA calculator. Work out what's coming in, what's going out and what can be allocated where.

    Find out who you owe, how much you owe and what interest you are paying.

    Once you have an idea of where you are right now today that will give you clues on where you can try and be tomorrow.

    Anyway I just wanted to show you some support. It's very scary to start with but once you do your SOA you will know exactly where you stand and the lovely people on here can help you get started on the path to debt freedom.

    Hi, a newbie here and just wanted to know if you're okay and how you got on with your SoA? It can be very scary facing up to it all but as others have said, every situation has a solution, some just take longer or different routes than others. My OH did a neat ostrich impression for quite some time and I didn't help as my attempts at help and support probably meant more sand was chucked in his direction, but after 5 long years, he is finally DF this year....you CAN do this! :D

    Hey guys

    Thank you for the lovely posts. I am still in the fear really so I am going to start tonight. I have a pile of books to mark and then I am going to DO IT.

    Your support is amazing, undeserved it know, and I means a lot. I am so glad someone understands!

    I want to try to focus on the positives doing this will bring. I have lots of stuff I would like to do if I were in the black :)

    Just remember, one step at a time. No debt is unsolvable, you can do this.

    Thanks. Worst depression day for a while here. Been thinking about checking out quite a lot. Sometimes I just hit a wall of tiredness and then that's it, but I find resting hard - makes me feel guilty / think negative thoughts. Aaagh.
