just wanted to tell you regarding swift sterling, I had a letter from them last month telling me they had wiped my debt?!!
I still owed them hundreds of pounds so I was confused. I emailed them to ask what was going on and they replied saying a load of legal waffle and that the debt had been removed from my credit file.
So I went onto noddle and had a look and it has gone from my credit file.
Last Friday I got a letter from a solicitors saying I had defaulted on the agreement and that I had 7 days to contact them.
I bit the bullet and rang the solicitors. I told them about the letter from SS and that the debt was wiped.
The woman I spoke to said the letter probably meant that they had sold the debt. I argued that no the letter said the debt had been written off and they had removed all details of the account from my credit file. She requested a copy of the letter so I faxed it over while I was on the phone to her. Once she had received it and had a look and then got her boss to have a look she said "im sorry for the misunderstanding, I will remove your details from our systems."
Now im not stupid so I asked for a letter to be faxed there and then stating this. Within 20 minutes I had the fax that clearly states I do not owe SS any money and that the account is settled!
God knows what has gone on there but im not complaining!!0
