As it happens I don't have one as I can't find a use for one but I do think they are very nice.
One of the best posts here!:-) In the OP's case he has a good idea of what he wants to use it for, but often they seem to be gadgets bought and then people look around for what they can do with them.
I've had a smart phone for a little over a year and bought it for a specific need. Some of the little things I've found to do with it are useful (e.g. record fuel use) and similarly the map function and train timetables have come in very handy but there is nothing I find absolutely vital.
So like you I think they're very nice but won't buy one just yet until I can really justify one.0
