My first tablet

I am toying with the idea of getting myself my first tablet. I would like a 10", as I have started my own business as a driving instructor, but funds are at an all time low, as with all start-ups.
I am looking at http://www.staples.co.uk/computers-drives-accessories/pcs-laptops-tablets/tablets/101-titanium-10-1-dual-core-android-tablet-pc?price=incvat&campaign=campaign_google&utm_source=utm_source_google&utm_medium=utm_medium_google&utm_content=419399&utm_campaign=utm_campaign_google&gclid=CJmRsqW0qLkCFcbLtAodgFAAnw

The real question is what do you want to do with it?
The Archos isn't bad but I suspect has a short'ish battery life. The Amazon one is cheap due to the very low resolution screen for a 10", the Archos is much higher resolution and superior IPS technology but only 8gb.
The Sumvision Cyclone range is generally well regarded for budget products, this one is dual core, decent IPS screen, good battery, +bluetooth, and 16gb memory at £121. (plus a few quid back if you use Topcashback to go to ebuyer)

Tablets are for play, Laptops / Desktops are for work, what do you want your tablet for? That gum you like is coming back in style.0

The tablet would be for work, basically show diagrams of roads, roundabouts and junctions to my learner drivers. Right now I am using an A4 sleeved binder and a dry wipe marker.0

I think I'd be tempted to adopt a KISS approach and stick with the A4 binder. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

A Tablet will do that no problem as it will have an app that's a bit like paper and a dry wipe marker .
Plus many will have GPS and free mapping systems .
Plus you can watch your favourite videos like

Is there an app that will allow you to draw on a PDF file of a roundabout?
And would it allow me to cut down on paper by having pupils sign on the tablet to the T&C's?
And will I be able to upload my diary for pupils to choose their next lesson slot?0 -

Absolute TOSH!
I use my tablet for work often, I am expecting to be using it for work a lot more shortly when an expected app gets released.
I use my tablet for a lot of thing that a laptop/desktop would be extremely cumbersome for.
They are a computer in a smaller package is all.
For the OP's expected use it would be ideal, especially when in a parked car.0 -

Have to agree, absolute tosh to say tablets are just for play any more. Sounds like someone is behind with times.
Plenty of apps that will allow docs to be singed. Maps that can be drawn on. Plenty of driving test, theory test apps.
Could use google calendar for you pupils to check possible dates to book.
As for actual tablet, would avoid the archos, where i work, i have seen quite a few of them returned. Sumvision are supposed to be ok, never used one thoughMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0
