Hmm that does seem a weird system?

At least the are on their way and that is something else you can tick off!

We have had a very 'weddiingy' weekend so to speak. We took our mum to thereception venue which she didn't hate... I get the distinct impression that awet march day was not a day to see an outdoor venue lol. There was a littlewinter wind damage to one barn but that will be fixed way before our weddingand we have every faith in that and the owner but I could tell that my mum wasworried. Thankfully she does like the place in general and is enjoying all ofour ideas / decisions and seems to be looking forward to the challenge!!!

We then went to Aberkhan and got more material.... just don't ask!!!

We now have 435 bunting flags in total... which are all about A4 wide at thetop, so fairly large, and I have handed over my share to my mum with buntingtape! -No more bunting!!!!!!!!

I have now cut around 35 bird shapes out of material and about 25 heart shapes which i needto now sew and give to MIL to stuff :)

They will be on string and hung down as a decoration / feature and in thefuture be sold at a craft fair or given away as thank you's on the big clean upSunday after the reception!

There are photos of some birds I did a few weekes ago and I have updated photos of the reception barnfields that i took on Saturday!

Talking of pintrest I installed the app on my mums phone..... I now havephotos of... well anything wedding related flying to my phone... all of thetime. :)

My OH has decided to make a giant connect four game are the 'giant' ones onebay are less than half a meter tall and made of foam!!!

We seem to be crafting everything for the wedding now... I was knotting ragbunting together and my OH was sewing Quoit hoops together out of spare sashwindow cord... We are quite hands on / crafty anyway so I think it is sub consciouslykeeping ourselves busy so that we are not worrying about everything!!!

wow scmp you are busy lol. love your pinterest.
guess what iv had a letter back from the manager of LFC to personally congratulate us im going to present it to h2b on wedding morning he is going to be made up lol.
iv also started emailing companies asking for samples. i got a feew perfume samples from boots, debenhams, and house of fraser last week, and so far iv had replies with promises of samples from molton brown, elemis and l'ocittane. my idea is to make pamper packs for bridesmaid and me to take to hotel. i would like to do one for h2b and DS1 aswell but not sure which companies to ask im not sure they would appreciate skincare samples lol.
the saving plan is getting there aswell i only need to save another £600 now by august for the reception. wedding and hols/honeymoon budget is saved so thats a relief. i think we might get offered money towards the reception once we announce we are married but family might just say stuff you you didnt tell us lol so i want to have it covered.

  • Hello ladies, how are we doing?

What are your thoughts on invites? When are you planning on sending them?
  • hi my def hows the house ?
im sending invites 8 weeks before reception (our reception isnt till august) so will be as soon as we get back after wedding. iv bought a book of second class stamps today as iv heard prices are going up again at the end of march.
my bouquets arrived this week from amazon. lovely but basic and the ribbon on the stem bit is awful so its a good job i was changing it anyway. they are ivory roses with crystal gems and pearl stems. then iv bought pale purple thistle to add to them (to match bridesmaid dresses) and lilac ribbon iv just got to get creative now.
im going to a wedding fair on sunday i cant wait lots of lovely wedding things all in one place and samples to try.
hope everyones plans are coming together its not long now till we are all married women. next job is to fill in paperwork.

    Hello Ladies!

Well we have not really done ANYTHING wedding related for almost 21 days!
On the 8th we took his son, mum, my dad, his brother, sister inlaw and their son to see the farm / barn and they loved it! Very happy now as our closest family have seen it and are really wanting to get involved in craft projects for our DIY wedding.

After that we had a busy week in work and then on the 14th we packed up the tent and headed for Gwynedd camping for 4 nights which was such a welcome get away as we were starting to get winter cabin fever!
When we got back it was a solid day getting the allotment ready for the potatoes and then a weekend of geocaching with the boy and his cousins and generally doing not a lot of anything which was a lovely change!

Now it is back to wedding stuff lol

Hey well done on the LFC letter, he will be really made up!
I have actually been thinking of pamper bags for the bridesmaids and grooms men but in the past I have never had much luck on the free sample front to be honest, I may try again if you hare having success!

As for invites we sent everything out at Christmas as there is a lot of travel involved and camping / tents to arrange - plus our families know that we are quite organised!!! We have been getting RSVP's through the post this month with a 'small piece of material for something special'. It will actually be the welcome bunting which will be with material from all our families that we can stitch into a throw or blanket afterwards :)

It is a shame about the bouquets ribbon but as you were planning on changing them anyway you are quite lucky. My cousin sells the foam flower bouquets in Swansea and they are very pretty but as we grow so much in the way of vegetables i think my family would be shocked if we didn't grow the flowers!
  • free samples from molton brown and l o'ccitane were fab i also managed to get some free perfume samples by asking in debenhams.
we went to a wedding fair on sunday and it was great loads of ideas and i was surprised at how cheap some of the local suppliers were compared to what id seen online. especially handmade chocolates (as gifts for special people) from a lady who works from home, and 2 different cake makers one who works from home and the other a small shop that only opened in january both worked out at about the same as we were going to spend to buy the cakes from m&s and buy the stuff to decorate them myself. plus we get a choice of flavours and a cake tasting session mmmm lol. H2B found it helpful as he cant imagine things like i can so i was able to show him what things would look like chair covers, table decorations, the cake etc.
im off out in a bit to try and get DS a suit we discovered the one he has that is black the trousers are too small (it is an age 16 from his prom but as he hasnt put on weight or grown and the jacket and waistcoat still fit i thought it would be ok) the other suit he has is shiny silver/grey with a black trim very trendy but not right for the wedding lol.
im also back on diet i want to lose 7lb in about 8 weeks ( my final dress fitting) not sure i will but il give it my best shot lol.
im starting to wish now it was here i cant wait anyone else getting impatient to be MRS.

  • Sorry ladies my mind has been elswhere how are we all doing?

We have been busy painting my new house :) had a meeting last week organising the day menu getting timings, slight issue in that weve put evening guests to come for 7pm and it should be 7.30. Will just tell them not to be early lol! They will go into a seperate area anyway but oh well. Managed to reduce our numbers from the min 60 to the new 50 which saved us £400. Only had 51 on the list so no point in bumping people up and paying for them when we would rather they were night guests.

I started getting migraines for 4 weeks in september/ october last year they went away overnight and have now come back. Baisically i feel myself maybe 2 out of 7 days and absolutly awful at one point every day and now this has become my number one concern for the day. I dont wanna be ill on my wedding day :(

anyone else feel they are running out of steam?
  • i know its easy to say but try not to stress about the migraines it'll make them worse. not many people turn up exactly on time for an evening do and im sure people wont mind milling about if they do lol is there a bar ? that usually keeps people happy.hope the house is coming along nicely its a real sense of achievement when you make it your own. i ordered my ring this week and iv ordered a second (short) dress from ebay china to change into at gretna after photos etc, more practical for wandering around but i'll still look and feel like a bride. i hope it comes in time and is ok she has great feedback and someone else had used her on another thread and been happy so i thought it was worth the risk £43 delivered so not too disastrous if its rubbish. all i need now is flowergirls shoes H2Bs shoes and briesmaids bracelet. had a bit of a panic with budget i need to find £191 by june but hoping it'll be ok. then il start panicking about reception im burrying my head in the sand a bit on that one.
    not long now
