Yay! In that case, my aims for September:
- No spending on coffees when I return to uni!
- Packed lunch and good breakfast every day, no buying food at uni!
- No evening takeaways. Meal plans are my friend!
- Finally, no unnecessary spends. Apart from petrol and stationery, there is no need for any spends.
This is in the aim of having as much money at the end of the month possible for savings and OPs

Was at uni yesterday at lunch time, but no coffees or food bought. To be fair, I was only up for 2 hours, so we'll need to see what happens on a long day.
Last night OH came home late, had no dinner. Normally I would have got some chips or something rather than cook a big meal, but just had some soup and bread :A
Finally, unnecessary spends. I am going to the cinema tonight, but it is Orange Wednesday and my friend has an unlimited card, so will be free! Going out to see other friend before, need to return luggage. Since I'm going out and leaving the house at 6pm, I would normally just buy some food while I'm out, or even worse - rubbish at the cinema! So, going to plan ahead today and have an early dinner.
Now, if only I could be this organised with work...0 -
Good commitment Calfuray!
My ebay items have bids, well 2 out of the 9 but still a week to go so looking good so far
took me a year to get them on there so they better be worth it now!
No further grocery shopping although there will be soon as have a cake to make for OH birthday and some bits to get in for his birthday dinner.
Keep it up everyone

Tootoo - my husband also turns his nose up at the mention of lentils in a dinner, but always manages to clear the plate. It's a great way of making food go further. (Bbc good food have a tasty lentil shepherds pie recipe).
Anyway, that's an aside.
I've listed 20+ items today on eBay and already sold one - wahoo. Making small steps forward.
In other news I've managed to actually stick to my weekly menu plan for the first time in months - usually end up wasting food as I get tempted by takeaway!0 -
Woohoo Rola_cola!
I listed 9 things on Sunday and 4 have bids
. A few quid spent yesterday on baking bits for OH birthday cake, got up at 5:30 to make it, it's in the oven at the moment. Wonder how long till I fall askeep considering I didn't get to sleep til half 11....I always haveto get up early but normally try and be in bed by 10-10:30.
Picking up the birthday present after work tonight. Managed to get a full size keyboard for £68 on ebay and only 10 mins frim work for pick uo so not bad all in all! A few bits of shopping needed again tonight (literally just picked up baking stuff last night) so will work out my totals so far then.
Right let's start the day smiling guys

Well I have to confess that my aims aren’t going so well, and it’s only 5 days in! I had a spend on food two days in a row which means I need to have a ‘non spend week’ to get clear. To aid with this I’m going to add one more aim. In addition to the rest I want to make one new recipe a week (starting next week). I’ve never really cooked much and I’m really really out of the habit now. If I start working on getting me back into the kitchen and making a few meals, I’ll have some extra which I can take in for lunch to help break up the monotony of sandwiches or cheap soup or similar. I will also hopefully start to meal plan more than I do. Which is not at all.
Good luck to everyone else; I hope you’re all doing betterthan me!Mini Challenge - Halve 2nd Mortgage by Year EndStarting: £10,000 Currently £8,142.62£3,142.62 to go!0 -
Total so far £100.29 - big shop this weekend as I need to get wine, but the following fortnight should be quite lean...fingers crossed.
