The BBC always make out its easy but BBC TV Licensing themselves say they will send someone around (because they don't believe you) and even then they'll start harassing you again after 2yrs so don't believe anything he says ;)

And I'm betting you are happy that millions of people are subsidising it for you. If I get cable can I force you to contribute to that or would that be different?

Is that aimed at me? lol, I'm not lying why should I? (Oh I forgot "we" are all part of the conspiracy, aren't we) :rotfl:

Sorry wiogs but only you guys take the spin in

What guys take "the spin" in?

I only pointed out the survey. I made no comment upon it other to say that the BBC had commissioned it.

He's a troll. And a very bad one at that. So it's best not to respond, imo. In one post he calls the BBC Fascists and in another Left-Wing. Truly awful.

Not sure this is very helpful.

If you were to take the time to read the thread you'd see that the left-liberal bias is an allegation about the BBC's culture and output (and is common knowledge throughout the media and the BBC itself).

The "fascist" comment might also be termed "authoritarian" and is related to the BBC's operation of the TVL-branded enforcement operation.
  • I don't have a TV licence. I've recently returned to the country but didn't have one when I left around 6/7 years ago. Haven't had one since I threw my U/S black and white portable into the bin in the 1980s.

Having said that, I still feel these threads are full of anti-BBC nutters with a bee in their beards..

I look forward to my first visit from the authorities, which may not be long in coming as obviously the previous "occupier" didn't have a licence either. In his case though, it was because he didn't pay _any_ of his bills....

Again - not helpful. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Can I suggest that before you get to that stage, you ask yourself on what legal basis the "authorities" will call? And what authority they actually have?

I'd hate to see you fall foul of some of their more dubious tactics.

The One fact remains, if you have no tv licence and you sign ANY paper work given to you to sign by the TV licence bod, you will be taken to court and found guilty.
It makes absolutely no difference if you do not "need" a licence.
You sign = You are guilty and you have NO defence.
    Be happy...;)

    Absoloutley.
But when that opinion includes the fact that anyone and everyone that slightly disagrees with you, or corrects your factually inaccurate statements is a "beeboid" who is actively working for BBCs PR companies.

It gets into a different and rather comically sad paranoid realm.

I am not responsible for the posts of other people. (No more for the "Beeboid" comments than for those who imply that the BBC is so good that virtually anything it does in enforcement is acceptable).

I did previously say, though, that if people knew the full extent of the BBC's deceit in this area, then they would perhaps empathise with the strength of feeling it provokes in those who do and those who are affected by it.

The vast majority of TVL cases are not defended so we'll never know how prevalent the "sexed-up" confession forms are.

In strict legal terms, there is no reason why a confession cannot be struck out, if the legal criteria are met.

My personal opinion is that this issue may eventually come down to winning people over to the view that BBC-TVL behaviour is unacceptable.

In which case alienating people is counter-productive.
