It's an 09 Fiesta, last years price was around £350 so the accident doesnt seem to have made a big difference on the renewal but I'll be shopping around naturally.
Nope nothing on the horizon but then I've not been looking overly hard lately. But the agency said when they thought my current job was ending they had other stuff I could do if I was willing. But I'll do some proper hunting again this week, esp as my town has now gone over to the universal credit system. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

That makes it seem expensive now. I'm paying £460 for a 170bhp 07 hatchback.scubaangel wrote: »last years price was around £350 so the accident doesnt seem to have made a big difference on the renewal but I'll be shopping around naturally.
Naturally. And don't forget cashback if you can.scubaangel wrote: »Nope nothing on the horizon but then I've not been looking overly hard lately. Yes, that would be advisable. UCS at the moment seems like one of those things to try to avoid getting on you. Like nuclear waste."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Yeah but you didn't have an accident go down as you at fault a couple of months ago - I know my no claims is protected but I still have to declare it which sucks. Plus our postcode area includes a rough area of town which always hikes up the premiums.
I think nuclear waste would be preferable! Then again at least my claim would be as simple as they come - am unemployed, give me cash rather than adding in to it housing/disability/child related stuff too. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

It does indeed. So I take it that you're not a petrolhead then?scubaangel wrote: »Plus our postcode area includes a rough area of town which always hikes up the premiums.
In the area I used to live, there was an organised insurance fraud ring. Apparently their activities put everyone's premiums up by about £100. Fortunately I'd moved by then...scubaangel wrote: »I think nuclear waste would be preferable! I'm sure it will get better with time though."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Really you have that much confidence in our government and its ability to operate bespoke IT systems?
And thats before we even try to take in to account the numpties left to run said systems (by the time they've made all the good staff redundant what's left is a scary thought).
In other news I spent more than planned in Mr T this evening £25 on clothes in the sale, but it consists of two skirts - one for work/going out, and one casual one (same style but different colour as one I already have), and a long loose green cardigan. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

No. I didn't say it would get good. Just that it would get better.scubaangel wrote: »And thats before we even try to take in to account the numpties left to run said systems (by the time they've made all the good staff redundant what's left is a scary thought).
They're less scary than the consultants who are brought in at vast expense. I've dealt with consultants before. I was awe-struck. For all the wrong reasons...scubaangel wrote: »In other news I spent more than planned in Mr T this evening £25 on clothes in the sale, but it consists of two skirts - one for work/going out, and one casual one (same style but different colour as one I already have), and a long loose green cardigan.
At least you got it in the sale. Wardrobe refresh?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Not so much refresh as sick of wearing the same two pairs of trousers or the same skirt for work every day.
Could do with a couple more tops too but finding it quite difficult to balance comfort with looking smart enough but not being over formal since after this job I don't know where I'll be working next and I really don't want to be buying new work clothes every time I get a new temp job until I find a perm one. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

As I've been reminded I haven't posted too much about the weekend. Roughly lovely drive up Friday night, arrived to be handed a glass of wine, me and my friends got to bed at about 4am when we realised it was nearly day light.
Got the train up to Stirling, had a quick nostalgia tour of town centre - apparently over the 4 years I lived there I found reasons to avoid/get barred from almost all the pubs in town....slightly worrying!
Headed over to the parkland the day was being held on mooched around various bits of big military kit then found our friend in the Veterans tent as she was being given her Veterans Pin by Princess Anne, naturally we did not jump up and down to get her attention then start gurning at her.
Spent most of the rest of the afternoon running out to see the air show stuff then back in to the Veterans tent/the Bar tent to avoid the rain. Particularly galling since both myself and my female friend had gone in 'girl' outfits, dresses, sandals and summer jackets. Drowned rat is not a good look.
Loved watching the Lancaster flying over, the Spitfire and Hurricane escorting it were amazing too but there's something about the 4 merlin engines which makes the Lanc special. Also throughly enjoyed the Red Arrows, was the first time I've been able to see an entire show.
One of my best friends from uni was able to get the train down to Stirling and met up with us for dinner hence the worlds colliding thing, very weird having uni and military friends in the same place at the same time but just showed me how similar my friends tend to be.
Heading back south on Sunday was another lovely drive, but I was shattered at work on Monday. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Well naturally...scubaangel wrote: »Spent most of the rest of the afternoon running out to see the air show stuff then back in to the Veterans tent/the Bar tent to avoid the rain. I don't know about that. Some women pull it off beautifully. Probably just a question of self-confidence.scubaangel wrote: »Heading back south on Sunday was another lovely drive, but I was shattered at work on Monday.
Well, so long as a good time has had by all - that's what you want out of a weekend.
Having a quieter weekend coming up?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Not so sure about quieter.
Got the Canadian and one of her best friends from back home coming up, two of us are doing the Manchester Color Run on Saturday morning, after that the plan is a little more fuzzy. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
