Just be glad there's a swear filter on here, the tone of my typing while swearing would be impressive if it was allowed. ;)

Today has mostly been a strange day, got up and decided to be a little bit girly so put a skirt on (this may have been influenced by realising that my only pair of shorts are in the wash), then found myself cutting up wood with an electric saw, went to see Nana who is recovering from a chest infection - so much so that she did nothing but complain while we were there - then had a quick walk around the town centre as Mum wanted to do some shopping.

Got to get my stuff together for tomorrow now, backpack, hydration pack so I'm not messing around with bottles of water, waterproof coat (less for its water proofing and more its wind proofing given where we'll be walking), then just need to pack lunch in the morning. Remembering I also need to pack patience and tolerance for children.

Well to be fair, in years gone by, women did everything in skirts/dresses - from getting the harvest in to gutting fish and all sorts in between.

However, if by "cutting wood with a saw in a skirt" you mean climbing a tree to do so - I can see your point...

Just to make you feel like visiting more often...

No it was already on the ground although Dad was talking about cutting down another of the trees in the garden next weekend.

Hmm a cosh would be a touch difficult to hide, I was thinking more a garrotte. ;)

    Any particular reason?

This is true. Stuffing it down the front of your trousers would quieten people - but for all the wrong reasons... :rotfl:

Oh? You prefer the silent ninja type thing?

He's just decided that it was getting too big last year and cut it down but he now wants to take it out completely.

Not so much ninja as just easier to store when only carrying a light backpack.

Overall though it was quite a nice afternoon walk, 90 minutes of walking to cover only 2.5 miles and it was parents who were slowing the group - one bright spark was smoking and complaining every other step that he couldn't get his breath.

So maybe if he cut out the smoking and the talking he'd have time to do some breathing...

Was talking to a friend earlier and am now considering a weekend in Scotland. This weekend.

Should hear tomorrow if I've a second interview or not and have been told that even if I don't get another interview I'll likely have another two weeks temping there.

A long term plan then? ;)

    Whereabouts in Scotland?

    More good news there.

My friend is somewhere in Cumbernauld but its Armed Forces Day up in Stirling which is where I went to uni, a few of my friends are planning to go along so would be nice to combine meeting up with some of them with revisiting some of my student haunts.

I take it you're going to stay with them?

    That sounds like an idea.

Just remember that nostalgia isn't what it used to be. Unless your student haunts are really old, they may have been knocked down and housing put on them.

Some things in the past - like Salford Shopping City (in my case) - will never die... :rotfl:
