Just because one of them calls theirself "Papa Ferret" doesn't mean they're all nuts.
Could be worse - could be Papa Smurf...
But only the sanest people voluntarily travel the entire length of the Pennine Way in January. On foot. In under a week. :rotfl:It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

They'd probably prefer it now than August when the sun is cracking the rocks.
Of course you would need to carry a damn good sleepmat in these conditions.

Given it was trying to snow when I drove under the PW footbridge over the M62 at 0830 Sunday morning I'm not so sure, at that point 10 of the competitors had already been out on the path for a couple of hours. Last time I was out on the moors along there it felt like it was hailstoning on me, in August. :cool:It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Only trying to snow? I was in Edinburgh early December and it *was* snowing...
Actually hasn't snowed properly here this year either. It's been really mild - which is good.scubaangel wrote: »at that point 10 of the competitors had already been out on the path for a couple of hours.
That would be difficult to see your route at that time in the morning.scubaangel wrote: »Last time I was out on the moors along there it felt like it was hailstoning on me, in August.
Isn't that normal summer weather up there? Look on youtube for windy weather videos for round there - always amusing."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Completely normal, looking at some of the photos on facebook of the competitors there's a fair bit of snow along the higher sections.
Not had any snow yet this winter here either which has been quite nice. Although its turned cold again over the last few nights, still won't affect me too much this week as I escape the country tomorrow for the week away with my Mum and sister. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Does it help to know we have a date with the cocktail bar over looking La Gomera when we arrive as it'll be shortly before sunset (assuming no delays).....
I'm just hoping for a quiet week reading and swimming. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Home from my holiday.
Had a great time, definitely no attempts to pull. But lots of sitting on the beach reading or swimming in the sea. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
