Just finished a survey on onepoll, have reached £39.60, so just 40p to go before I can cash out! Would be fab to get that claimed tomorrow so I have the money by the end of November.

Also hit todays SB target and am 6 points from my self imposed instagc target. Will keep clicking the odd SBTV video to earn a few more bucks while I'm online.

Also just sent an application for a job with the company I worked for down south, same job level but a better salary which I assume reflects it being a busier site and a slightly different role. Fingers crossed for that one.

Not given up just planning on living alone til I find a human male I can stand to live with,

Oh, you want a bit more than that. Look for someone who lights up your face with a smile, lights up your life with laughter and lights up your world with love.

Don't forget that "enjoy yourself a little" bit thrown in there somewhere as well.

I think I'm going to try to get my Dad to buy the vouchers off me so I can put the cash towards the credit card debt, or keep hold of them and use them towards Christmas pressies for someone. One bonus of being single and unemployed is that I only need to worry about gifts for my family which reduces the bill somewhat.

Unless you find a workplace with a Secret Santa. Perhaps it should be one of your interview questions... :rotfl:

    OK you sound slushy..stop it!

Enjoying myself is pretty much built in full stop. If I'm working I can afford work place Christmas pressies without worrying about it ;)

Been talking to one of the foreign guys who was at my old workplace training tonight, he's doing the Abu Dhabi triathlon in march and we've discovered that a couple who used to be volunteers at my old dive centre now living in Abu Dhabi are people he met diving in Oman a couple of weeks ago - all three of them have suggested I fly over for a week when the tri is happening. Would be lovely to see them all again so possibly need to think about pricing up flights if I find a permanent job in the next few weeks.

    A tri-athlon? In Abu Dhabi? Wowsers - I bet that's warm...

It would be good for you though. Get you out of the rain and the snow.

Yes folks - not be long now... :rotfl:

I wouldn't do the tri, lord I might be slightly nuts but I'm not certifiable. Yet.
It'd be my foreign friend doing the tri, it'll be his first, if I go I'll be standing somewhere shady drinking lots of water as even in March it'll be too hot for much else by my standards. Trouble with the idea of going over is that flights range from £500 return (many connections) to £2k return (direct), maybe if I'm working I'll think about it

I am planning a trip away on my own when I get a job, and before I find my own place again, was contemplating a trip to Ireland (Northern or Republic, not too fussy either way) to do some coastal walks, or possibly Isle of Man for a week and throughly explore on my own. But things like that will cause my parents to worry now I'm here again.

I think the problem is at the moment I have itchy feet and want to go to new places, which is really hard to do when you're not working, and living in the village you grew up in.

Does that mean you're building up for a triathlon then? ;)

Yes, and having just come out of winter (or still in winter depending on where you are) you'll still be used to sub-zero.

It's not really a goer if you're still not working then.

Well IOM shouldn't worry them. You can't even get lost there for long. So long as you don't take a bike over of course...

It's the unemployed bit that crimps you, rather than the village. That'll change when a job arrives.

At the moment its fair to say I'm building towards having the fitness and motivation to get out of bed before lunchtime!

I'll put international travel on the want to do list I reckon!

My parents forget that I've lived on my own terms for years, and unlike my sister who is one of those girls who travels in a pack I prefer to be able to do my own thing as and when, although up to the last 18 months or so I haven't had the confidence to actually do much more than the odd day trip.

And once I find a job I'll not have the time for travelling.

Today I've applied for a few more jobs, and not much else during the day.

This evening my Mum, Aunt, Sister and I went to see my Nana in hospital then had a meal at a local restaurant.

The consultant has told us that given she's 91 Nana is fairly healthy overall, but the heart problem now it's been found can be treated, but it's going to be a slow recovery, so we should be thinking in terms of home for Christmas rather than next week. Seems to have lifted a load off my mum and aunts minds as they're both happier now they know whats going on.

On the plus side Mum paid to fill my car up in return for my agreeing to take her to the airport at the weekend and then pick her and my step dad up again the week after and visiting nana while they're away.

  • Not read all your diary yet but I'm in a similar position, but I've moved from the North back home to the South and am also living with parents (for a short while, the shorter the better).

Looking forward to reading the rest and seeing what you're up to.

Yes, it's a real pain holidaying on your own at times. Motivation is sometimes hard.

But as for your parents worrying - you're just going to have to let them worry. Having said that, mine worry when I drive home and it's chucking it down. I've no idea why, it's not like I can't drive... :rotfl:

You will - provided you don't have a job with nutty shifts.
