True, but maybe it could be worth a try at some point.

Something like that, although not sure I'd fit everything in the bag if there was more than one can in there at once.

Had it cut to just above shoulder length last year its below my shoulder blades now.

I tried that but find that it results in me switching off the phone or ignoring the reminders as they're annoying me and I don't like to feel nagged - even by technology I've set up to nag myself!

Just been updating my goodreads reading lists, I wondered why I seemed to be behind schedule on my read 300 books a year challenge this year so had a look at my over all stats - so far I've read 223 books this year or a total of 47616 pages, which is already over 9000 pages more than I read in the 336 books I read in 2012.

I did try it. Everyone gets suspicious...

"not sure" being "I tried it and you can't..." ;)

You have a book-reading schedule?

Looks like it's about 1 per day...:eek:

I'm chewing (not literally) through my first book in ages (though I read other stuff). Certainly not six a week...:eek::eek:

What kind of books are they?

Nope it's a small bag, a second can would just about fill it leaving no space for the other stuff.

I like having long hair, other than the length of time I have to spend washing and drying it, and because I have thick hair it's a nightmare to style - I'm only just learning how to french plait it myself.

Its not really a schedule, more a challenge for myself, as for the types of book I will pretty much read almost anything, at the moment I have Shackleton's South half finished on my kindle but as I've found it quite dry reading I've alternated chapters of that with other books so the other ebook am reading at the moment is a scifi self published book, which is suprisingly good. Before the scifi one I was reading a chick lit type book which irritated me immensely, and I think the next one I'm going to read is a crime thriller. As well as those I've got a military history book on my bedside table and am about half way through Great Expectations on a reading app on my phone.

Basically I love to read. Always have done, which is why handbags for every day use have to be big enough to fit my kindle because frankly I feel lost without something to read and buying tree books is expensive at the rate I get through them (and we should probably not mention the lack of space to keep them at home), and I don't like carrying library books around in case I damage them.

"Other stuff" being a third can? ;) :rotfl:

OK, I'll stop it now... :A

Hmm, that looks complicated. Blokes hair is so much easier - blessed with small mercies.

The genre in general or just that example?

I hope you've got a big screen on your phone. I read some things via Plucker a while back, but it was like reading through a letterbox. A really small letterbox.

It made the saying "It's a window to a whole new world" all that more real... :rotfl:

Are there no charity shops near you? Apparently (according to my parents at least) the national charities like Oxfam are outrageously priced. and the ones supporting local hospices are the best value for money.

There's one in Barney which has a 3 for £1 sale on every so often - but that's probably a bit far to go for cheap books...

Yes, unfortunate - isn't it? I have to keep all mine boxed up. A wall of plastic boxes with books in. Not filled with books as they are then far too heavy to even move. Yep - got that T-shirt... :rotfl:

That's understandable, and they'd be no smaller than your kindle. Can you borrow books on your kindle?

Most of the books on my Kindle (barring I think 3 so far) have been freebies, so over the last 3 years since I got my first kindle I've easily saved more than the cost of the two kindles and covers.

I'm a member of my local library but it appears my local council are as bad at library management as they are everything else - the three books I've wanted to borrow from them have all been ones not in circulation, and given two of them were Tom Clancy books you'd think they'd have at least one copy in the area!

It was just that book, although I find its not a favourite genre. The phones an iPhone so not the best for reading but on the whole I find I pick it up to read when I've only a couple of minutes and its not worth getting the kindle out of my bag - think I started G.E on it in June and am less than half way through it.

I don't want/need to be buying books, right now I have to priorities decluttering the current piles of books I'm unlikely to read again, and save money. Of course once I'm working again and living on my own all bets are off, if I've space for more book cases I will wind up filling them. :D

In the meantime I've had an email back from a different agency wanting me to call them tomorrow about a temp job I applied for so fingers crossed on that one.

I've also claimed £20 of sainsbug vouchers from one of the survey sites.

Some has brought out an e-ink phone - best of both worlds.

It makes for cheap wallpaper. Especially given the price of decent wallpaper.

Not given up just planning on living alone til I find a human male I can stand to live with, the problems with the last one mean I plan to be a lot more selective next time around when deciding to live with one. ;)

I think my priority list is roughly, job, home, bloke, with a lot of reducing debt thrown in.

I think I'm going to try to get my Dad to buy the vouchers off me so I can put the cash towards the credit card debt, or keep hold of them and use them towards Christmas pressies for someone. One bonus of being single and unemployed is that I only need to worry about gifts for my family which reduces the bill somewhat.

Phoned back about the temp job this morning, the lady I needed to speak to was busy, so am waiting for her to call me back. If I've not had a call by three I'll phone again.

Phoned them back again just after three and the consultant was in a meeting, so am still waiting!

On the other hand I've just cashed out another £1 from qmee, so I really should get the money out of paypal in to my bank account ready for this months debt payments.
