you pay a budgeting loan back, all the money they give me I have to pay back, it's a loan, I really fail to see what the harm is. People talking about bragging is a joke.

I assume when you say you pay it back- you mean from benefit money- not your own?

I am guessing the reason you are getting some backlash is that once upon a time when people were unemployed they struggled to feed the family - it appears now with a bit of knowledge you can live quite ok without a job - and in fact in some cases better than some jobs pay..

wow 15 posts in 8 years and you use two of them on me, I am privileged :j

If you knew the answer why ask the question, yes out of benefits that I paid for all my working life, so sorry I am not going to feel guilty for that, if you think you can live better on £71 a week than working, give it a try, I posted in post 33 what I spend most of my benefit on, hardly any left for heat never mind food, so be my guest.

Lets see if I warrant another post, lets get you up to 20 by 2020!

Maybe you should spend less time on here and more on looking for a job :T -
You also do not just get £71 a week - you have your rent paid - that's at least another £500 a month - council tax? Free prescriptions? Etc :j

firstly the argument was bragging secondly s/he as a sig bragging they have OVERPAID £5k in mortgage yet s/he has the cheek to say I'm bragging, if they are so concerned about someone on £57 a week paiding to go to the laundertte, s/he should either loan them the money or give them the money to buy a washing machine, instead of having a go at someone asking a simple question, sorry if it upsets s/him or you that I dare mention the word SKY  oops I said it. where was I up forthly or fifthly? you pompous person sixthly I done ;)

I think people should shut up. The OP is entitled to a loan after 6 months on JSA, It is a loan so OP pays it back in full, Would you rather the OP gets a payday loan and ends up in debt.

To many stuck up people on this forum.

My signature is because I had a mortgage free wannabe diary - every poster on that forum does the same.

It's certainly not bragging and ANYONE can have savings, you just need to be diagnosed with cancer and they pay you money if insured.

I'd personally rather live in a tent with zero money and have health but that option want offered.

I'd give money to anyone (and do where I can), however, I cannot gift a client, all I can do is find someone to donate.

People are living in hardship, I do not think you live the life of Riley and think you do struggle, but saying you get £348 for a sky box was bound to create a reaction.

Those on benefits are stigmatised as you are aware, therefore your post only emphasises that stigma.

Given that I am sure a lot of your loan is for more than a cheap box, had you worded differently it would not have had the antagonistic slant it did.

It bothers me not personally - but logically you cannot advocate poverty then spend £350 on a sat box, to do so provokes the response you got.

I'm glad those loans exist, they are a life saver for many in need, and I think no TV is a need, it was your attitude I took issue with as you appeared to want to provoke negative responses.

The OP said they were applying for £100 for sky box repair or new one, I hardly think having sky in your house is a life if riley,

I am not sure where you got £348, But that is the max a single person can apply for.
