how am I winding people up?

sorry but I would need a little more than £348 which will take me over a year at £7+ a week to pay back, add a couple of zeros then yeah it might just make an amount worth bragging about.

BTW I can not afford to go to a launderette, if I was so broke that I thought someone that got a budgeting loan for £348 was bragging, I would not be spending money on launderettes but washing my clothes in the sink and using the money for food.

They have no washing machine - so need limited laundrette visits for bedding, they are in DRO so cannot apply for loans.

Short of smelling which doesn't go down well at interviews they have to use money from £57 (some of which is rent and CT) so saving for a washer is miles away and their tiny sink in shared accommodation doesn't wash bedding.

Still you are happy so all good

sorry but lets all be sad because some people are worse off.

FYI I get £71 a week, out of that I pay £8 back for the loan, £10 a week for water, £3 a week for TV licence, £5 a week for internet for job huntering, £10 a week for electric, and I'm on a meter for gas, I can not afford to heat the flat in winter as £10 a week just about covers cooking and hot water, so no way will I be able to heat my flat, my reat is paid every calender month but my housing benefit is paid every 2 weeks, so each month I'm £40 short, so that's £10 a week for rent too, yes at the end of the year I will have an extra rent payment when it catches up but until than I'm £10 a week short on rent, so I say again if I did not have a washing machine I would use the sink, and clothes would not be smelling as you say, no way can I afford to pay nearly £10 a week on a launderette.

So sorry if I'm a little happy I have some extra money for a treat, and before I get the replies of "well get a job" I have worked all my life until now, I was made medically retired so finding a new job with "medical tired" on a CV is not easy.

But you don't say you need to borrow to live, you say you need £350 us for a TV box, if you didn't expect the reaction you got why post?

It's a BUDGETING loan it's not meant to be used to live on, that is what BENEFITS are meant to provide for if you are not working.

have you read the thread? I asked the question how much is the max amount allowed, I was told it was £348 I said good as I only needed a £100 for a sky box, sorry but it's true but as it's £348 and I'm skint all the time, I thought what the hell, get the max and buy those things I've been doing without, yes maybe a Mcdonalds will be included in that, maybe a bit of credit for the gas and a couple of other little things I need.

For someone who has posted on here, on the pretext of sticking up for those with not very much to live on, you don't seem to have any qualms about sticking the boot into me.

Please reply if you wish but I will not be responding to your post and yes I will enjoy my loan, sorry if that upsets your mates whilst they stick £10 in a launderette.
  • You posted for a reaction. My mates have more money than sense and no idea how those on benefits live, that is why they campaign to keep them low. If you cannot accept you posted controversly then enjoy, but accept you add to myth that low rate benefits allow luxuries.

Firstly, there is a world of difference between having substantial savings (the clue is in the word savings) and getting into debt. Secondly, bloolagoon is not bragging as s/he has not deliberately posted about getting a loan to pay for Sky. Many people on MSE have the finances as their sigs. In fact, bloolagoon is to be admired. S/he clearly is very astute when it comes to financial matters - you might be able to learn from him/her.

I have to pay the money back so I don't see why it's a problem, I have to watch something, furniture is not something you can't live without but it allows for that so why not a sky box.

You pay the money back- or the the government?

firstly the argument was bragging secondly s/he as a sig bragging they have OVERPAID £5k in mortgage yet s/he has the cheek to say I'm bragging, if they are so concerned about someone on £57 a week paiding to go to the laundertte, s/he should either loan them the money or give them the money to buy a washing machine, instead of having a go at someone asking a simple question, sorry if it upsets s/him or you that I dare mention the word SKY  oops I said it. where was I up forthly or fifthly? you pompous person sixthly I done ;)

you pay a budgeting loan back, all the money they give me I have to pay back, it's a loan, I really fail to see what the harm is. People talking about bragging is a joke.
