    Hi

Just wanted to ask if your little one might be coming down with something. I tend to have a good old grumble when either of mine are being gits, then a couple of days later they'll be down with a full blown cold or whatever. Then I feel guilty for being so impatient with them.

Just thought if its out of character for him, he might be feeling grotty bu not really understand how to tell you.

DS is 4.5 and now can tell me. Today he was too poorly for the summer club trip - but demanded we go and get one of the biscuits they made yesterday to take on the bus ;)

DD is 3 next week and is only now learning to tell me if her tummy hurts (had milk intol as baby and still struggles a bit with her tum, so this is frequent and she's only now being able to say).

I said this to DD today when DGS was on his whineathon, poor baby lol:rotfl::rotfl:
"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I tried to think of a diplomatic way of writing the title, but couldn't think of one. DS is 2 and 8 months, I love him dearly but to be frank (I will probably get flamed for saying this) but he has been absolutely getting on my nerves today.

Most of the time he is good as gold, but recently he has developed a high pitch scream - ear piercing is an understatement - which he lets out every time he doesn't get his own way, feels like every five minutes today.
He isn't playing with his toys, even though I was playing with them with him (which he usually loves), he was just throwing them and it feels like everything over the past 4 or 5 days has been a battle. Brushing his teeth took 15 minutes of wrestling this morning, he nearly drowned himself in the bath today by throwing himself backwards in a fit of temper, and it has just been one thing after another.

He has a speech delay. He is verbal, but is behind his peers (his speech is nearer to a 2 year old than a 3 year old - basic 2-3 word sentences). I am making some allowances for his frustration due to the lack of speech, but even so, he is testing my patience more than ever today. I had the common worry about Autism, but he doesn't have any of the symptoms or signs apart from the speech thing so I can probably rule that out. OH doesn't live with us, although he does see him regularly, so I am basically doing it alone. I have tried counting to ten, deep breaths, walking out of the room, but nothing seems to be working.

It's times like this that I wished that I drank :o.

I suppose I am asking if this is normal, because I feel like some two-headed demonic creature at the moment.

This just made me:rotfl:Sounds just like my toddler! My mum says it's pay back for what I did to her when I was little! my son will roll around the floor screaming in public, very embarrassing when you feel like everyone is looking at you like you're the worst mother in the world! But then there's other times he acts like an angel :A and people comment how lovely he is! I hear it doesn't get any easier though :( But yes I too could quite easily turn to drink sometimes ;)
  • Just want to send you a <<hug>> it does get better and then you remember the good times rather than the bad.
Mind you no.1 is nearly 30 and still at home (and turning into his dad!!)
hey ho tomorrow is another day.

Yes I would say its perfectly normal. My youngest starts school this time and as much as I love him its like, woohoo! I'll have 2 1/2 days a week ( work other days :-( ) of peace and quiet and no kids constantly bickering and fighting! And my house might have a chance of not looking like a bombs gone off in it!

Bedtime is 7pm in this house and after a full day of 'mum he said this' and 'mum she did that', someday a it really just does not come quick enough. They are 4 and nearly 7 by the way x

Some of you may appreciate this -

Twas the night before school started when all through the town, the teachers were groaning ... a disturbing sound! By 10 they were washed and tucked up in bed, where memories of children filled them with dread! New pencils, new folders new registers too! New classes, new grey hairs their anxiety grew. The parents just giggled when they learned of this fright, "you've had 6 weeks off. They're all yours, tough sh##e !
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

My youngest daughter used to get argumentative when she was bored.

It used to drive me round the bend.

Excellent! :D Although you've gotta feel for the poor s**s who are both teachers AND parents - no respite!

My youngest is 3 next month and terrible 2s are still in full swing. I want my placid little man back, not this horned spawn of satan! He won't start nursery until January and as much as I'll miss him, he really needs it.

Eldest is normally fine 99% of the time, except when he's tired and would argue the toss on everything.

On the plus side, MIL is having both boys on Saturday while we move house. Funny how they never squabble or play up for her.

Longer for my DS. He broke up 19th July, goes back 10th Sept!
