Thanks everyone, OH has posted Facebook and twitter alerts as he's into social media, tomorrow he's going knocking on doors with a photo asking everyone to check sheds, garages etc and to keep an eye out. I've listed him on lost pet websites and Petlog have sent out alerts to vets in a 30 mile radius as I've said previously. We'll be sorting out posters and maybe put an ad in the local paper with a reward, although I'm not sure how much to offer? We don't have paper boys but I'll try to catch the postman. Thanks again.
Edit, also we informed our local animal rescue centre in case anyone finds him and takes him there, he was wearing a collar but may have lost it or something, contacted on the off chance. Will contact more shelters tomorrow. We also emailed the local council environment dept thing, in case he was found run over, haven't heard back yet but fingers crossed not.

Is he neutered?
Is he microchipped?
One of mine went missing for few days - I know how you feel.
Chloe came back by herself, what a relief it was...
Fingers crossed xx0 -

He is both neutered and microchipped, we paid for the premium microchip service with Petlog so they've already alerted vets within a 30 mile radius. He was wearing a collar but unluckily this one didn't have a name and phone number tag, his previous ones did but he has a habit of loosing collars and we hadn't replaced the tag yet. It did have a bell though. I'm assuming he may well have lost this collar by now unfortunately, which is why I contacted the local shelter and will contact others further out.
Thanks for your kind words, and to everyone else as well.
Edit, also to say we are contacting the pet insurance soon as they cover the costs of a reward and advertising.I SUPPORT CAT RESCUE! Visit Cat Chat to support cat rescue too.

Oh no INEED.
Try not too worry too much yet , as others have said there is plenty of time for him to turn up , and could well be in someones shed etc , down a rabbit hole , all sorts of places they get into at that age as others have mentioned. Around that age seems to be a popular time to go MIA it seems .
Mine disappeared around that age too, came back a couple of days later stressed and tired but fine.
Hope he's back soon.....probably walk back in without a care in the world and give you a 'whats up with you' look.
Fingers crossed for you.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
I really hope so, still no sign

Fingers crossed he shows up soon!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

I'm so sorry your cat is missing. One of mine went missing the night before Christmas Eve Eve a few years back, we were convinced he had gone for good but thankfully returned the next morning though very very shaken. These are some of the things we did plus other suggestions, in no particular order.
Posters to stick up around estate on lamp posts etc (remember to take them down again!)
Small notes to put through neighbours doors, though for nearby neighbours its easier just to knock and ask them to check garages, sheds etc
Facebook, check to see if any other sites we have one called spotted and the town and although a lot of idiots use it to post silly stuff people have started posting when animals have gone missing, found, or if sadly they have found a run over one.
We have freecycle where you give away things for free which also have freecycle/freeagle cafes where you could post.
Contact local vets, animal rescues, cats protection.
Also the dreaded walk around nearby places like main roads, nearby parks etc just in case.
Good luck0 -
I really hope he comes back. I keep my fingers cross for!0
