He wasn't backed into a corner - he repeatedly backed up his posts with information from Trading Standards and the Office of Fair Trading while you're the one that was backed into the corner from the start and attempted to argue your way out without any actual evidence to back up your claims. It's been made quite clear the circumstances where traders cannot absolve themselves of their responsibilities by simply marking a receipt as 'sold as spares' or similar when the car is otherwise sold as being in normal running condition, which is something people should be aware of.
