What conditioner should I use for co-washing?

I'm thinking of co-washing my hair, its very thick and I've also coloured it. I naively co-washed my hair using my normal conditioner (John Frieda Radient Red) on Saturday night but it made my hair overly greasy today.
Is there a particular type of conditioner that other people use?
TIA

Try Timotei's new sulphate free conditioner and also L'oreals everpure range. Also try the Body Shops rainforest range. All of these are sulphate free and what I use to co-wash my afro hair with once a week.0

I would guess it's washing with conditioner instead of shampoo?0

I thought that was down to picking up the wrong bottle in the shower.:o0 -
Yes, its washing your hair with conditioner instead of shampoo, its meant to be kinder to hair and to colour...

Thanks alisara, I'll have a look for some of those, I didn't realise the conditioners had to sulphate free.0 -

I've found 2 conditioners that work well for me: Boots Essential (something like 65p a 500ml bottle :rotfl: ) and Alberto Balsam mandarin & papaya
My personal experience is that the more "premium" or "salon" conditioners are utterly useless if used without shampoo first, whilst the cheap stuff does the job nicely - you need to try a few out though and see which ones your hair is happiest with. Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
Does this co-washing work?
Would your hair not go limp & lanky?
Do you additionally wash with a shampoo every so often?
My hairdresser told me to use sulphate free top quality conditioner as it helps steady the hair's drying, ageing process as you get older.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Been doing it for years
I have long straight hair pretty much down to my waist. I don't even bother to blow dry it or use an styling products :rotfl:As for hairdresser, well... I cut the fringe myself and get my mum or a friend to trim the ends every three months or so.
About every 6 weeks I do a home-made mask with a couple of egg yolks and some olive oil (one of my gran's little tips!), shampoo that out and then dye it. That's the only time "real" shampoo gets anywhere near it.Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
I've bought the Timotei sulphate free conditioner to try. I must admit, my hair was in great condition yesterday - styled easily, hung well, no fly away's. Some people mention using shampoo every now and then, and some people don't. I guess it's down to the individual's hair.0
