I can't believe summer is nearly over

    Yay!

I may be a bit of an oddball :o but this is my favourite time of the year - September to New Years Day. I love Autumn and Winter, the countdown to Christmas, Bonfire Night, getting dark early and still being dark when you wake up, the works. My birthday is late December, my boys were all born late in the year. I just love it. I've always preferred the colder months, even when I was skinny enough to wear skimp Summer clothes. So I, for one, am happy.

I love it too but not because of Christmad. I love the autumn leaves, the harvests, the preserving and pickling, the composting, the digging, the cooler nights and snuggly evenings, and planting my onions and garlics, the planning next year's growing, the seed buying and being able to sleep better because the nights are longer and darker. But I don't wish 1/3 of the year away because of one day!

Me too :-) I've had a few stressful months and husband keeps reminding me that soon it's "winter season" as we call it. From Halloween through to Easter we have so many celebrations, including all of our birthdays and I love chilly weather. Just need a nice bit of thick snow and I will be happy.

I have to admit when autumn hits I love it with Halloween, bonfire night and crimbo along with New Years. It's not a case of celebrating but more the atmosphere around it at the pretty lights around Xmas time. I'm not a fan of September so when October comes I feel more cosy and start looking fwd to leaving the office when it's dark and seeing twinkly stars as I walk home.......aaaah.

Plus once bonfire night done and dusted I quite like the Christmassy adverts.

    "Holidaaays are coming...,"
  • I'm another who prefers autumn and winter (probably biased due to having an autumn birthday).

I love wrapping up in cosy jumpers, sitting in front of the fire, snow, spending chilly evenings snuggled up with a hot chocolate. There definitely seems to be a nicer atmosphere around that time of year, it all just seems cosier.

There seems to be more to look forward to as well with bonfire night, Halloween, Christmas and New Year.

Me too, I love lighting the woodburner, making Halloween cupcakes and carving the pumpkin, getting wrapped up to go a bonfire, and then the lovely run up to Christmas. I'm a bit more prepared this year, having saved money every month. Me and hubby book ourselves in for a weekend to get all our pressie shopping done in one hit, so looking forward to that too.
