You didn't download and create the Windows 7 disc from post #12 I take it...
You can use yours, but you might have a problem if it's not an SP1 disc.
Look here. You can run sfc /scannow from there and even copy the contents of the disc to an external drive before a possible reinstall.0 -
Other command prompt options:
bootrec /fixmbr
then
bootrec /fixboot
Also you can boot in to the BIOS setup screen and reset everything to Default.0 -
Thanks for yr help. I think I'm going to have to sleep on this now and see if I can and attempt fix tomorrow. Incidentally the disk I have is an SP 1 version.0

Disc should be ok then.0

Hi NiftyD, trying to enter sfc /scannow but keeps saying "there is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again"
I have also tried the other suggestions and it say completed successfully but still getting blue screen on reboot?

To be honest I didn't make a firm note but . . . . .
Unbelievably I have managed to get back in and am using PC as I type :j
I was truly at the last resort before doing something a bit more drastic with said PC. I looked down the list of other options on the SYSTEM RECOVERY OPTIONS window and chose 'System Restore' (Had tried 'Start Up repair' earlier without success previously) it went through the process having chosen the oldest date I could see (21 Aug 2013) but it said in the end that it couldn't complete said system restore. I clicked on close, fearing that was my last chance and it then rebooted itself. I looked up expecting the usual Blue Screen but to my utter surprise there was my DeskTop and enter Password screen!!! :j
OK, so far so good, I have backed up important documents and photos etc, fortunately not too many since only reinstalled Windows a little while ago, and have uninstalled the Net Framework file once again. I am now going to try and reinstall windows updates but wonder whether I should reboot first? I'm a bit worried in case I get the Blue Screen again
Thanks for keeping with me on this ...

Windows Updates will try to offer the NET Framework 4 Client Profile again, so you should check which Updates are offered, remove the tick from that one and then choose to 'Hide' it by 'right clicking' on the Update and choosing 'Hide'.0

Well I checked list of optional updates available and there were three unticked for Net framework file plus one Security Update for the same which was ticked so I unticked it and started download for rest. Just finished and it said 'Failed' on all six updates that it attempted?
Should I have rebooted first to clear the Net framework File completely?
Also, do I still need to remove those driver updates even though I went back a week or so? If so I'm not sure where to find them

Error code = 8E5E03FA (as before)
How can there be an error code which they (MS) don't know what it is - does a PC just generate new ones out of the Blue? Just wondering
