Can you stop posting unexplained 'advice'
By all means offer solutions/suggestions but at lease back them up...
"at lease backing them up"? I'm freehold, lol!
English grammar suggests "at least", dear adviser, this is learnt in year 4 approx, there are some very helpful forums that you may find useful for such info!
Op is entitled to a full refund, and if Apple delays more, causing significant inconvenience, you can ask for additional compensation from them.0 -
On what basis? You can ask for anything you want, but after 7 months I very much doubt you will get it.
On what basis you believe so? have you ever refused someone after 7 months? Are you friends or colleagues with someone who refused their customers refunds for faulty items 7 months old?
And what is your words doing, apart from discouraging and scaring the OP off from seeking her rightful redress?0 -
Thanks for all the advice.
I don't want a refund, I just want my own ipad sorted properly this time, I know people with iPads and this has never happened to any of them never mind twice within 7 months.
I'm just not keen on the idea of a reconditioned one but if that's what it's going to be then I'll have to like it. Plus if it comes to having to accept a reconditioned one I'd have liked them to put a screen protector on, after all mines got one on and I had to pay for that.
Just have to wait and see.0 -

No they aren't.
And as usual you have omitted the majority of the story.
After 6 months OP has to prove inherent fault if required (as this is apple that is normally not necessary, but the will look for water and impact damage)
Assuming the retailer (but again since we are talking Apple here it is quicker and easier to deal direct with Apple) is happy it is an inherent fault then the OP can ask for a repair, replacement or refund but that is at the discretion of the retailer.
The OP could very well get a refund but that is far from certain.0 -

Sorry my ipad corrected least to lease, must be entitled to a full refund, I shall go into the store and demand it forthwith.
Because you say so...
Now To correct your many inaccuracies:- Due to age its up to the OP to prove the fault is inherent if the RETAILER requests so.
- The OP may be entitled to a refund if the fault is proved to be inherent.
- It is not the OP's choice, nor right to a specific remedy - the OP can request, but not insist should the retailer justify the OP's request to be financially prohibitive.
- It is the retailers CHOICE to provide from repair, replace, refund.
- If the OP is to be refunded this would be down to the place of purchase to do so, not Apple.
- Although its the second time in 7 months, there is also the possibility the retailer COULD make a usage reduction - although this could be argued on the basis that it was away three weeks for repair the first time.
Personally OP, I would take the replacement, same day from an Apple store, you'll need to make your Genius appointment online and take the device in for this to be done. You can do so on the Apple Website.
The John Lewis guarantee would be one I would take advantage of in year two, relying on the superior policy directly with an Apple store in year one.0 -

If you are going to try and take the pi** out of other people's grammar, then at least make a decent attempt to get yours correct.
What would the year 4 grammar teacher say about your posts?
"What are your words doing"And what is your words doing, apart from discouraging and scaring the OP off from seeking her rightful redress?
"you can stop giving unexplained advice"You can stop to give your unexplained advice.
"On what basis do you believe so?"On what basis you believe so?
And that's just from a very quick scan of your posts on this one thread alone.0 -

No no no no, they are NOT entitled to a full refund.
If you're drunk, go away and come back when you're sober. If you're sober, go and post drivel elsewhere. Your advice is awful and incorrect.0 -
As a long time lurker on MSE (who has decided to re-register due to stupidly having my old account as my real name) I just wanted to say
Good god Malchish, what planet are you on?!0
