It depends really, if the owners are the ones who said to their carer 'will you feed my rabbit, I'm just going to shove it in the bin shed while I go on holiday' they don't really deserve much sympathy.

On the other hand, if they thought they were leaving it with a responsible person who took it upon themselves to do so, then yes, they do deserve sympathy, on many levels.

I agree if they turn up at in the next couple of weeks they will be able to get her from her foster home, I warned them this might happen and they were good enough to take her anyway (wouldn't have been able to keep her fly free).
If they don't shes safe and will be rehomed.

Some people cant do anything without getting something in return the idea of doing something without getting any monetary benefit is an alien concept.

It wouldn't occur to such a person that the benefit I would get is to feel good cos the rabbit is now safe and will hopefully recover.

You have done a great job getting things sorted .I hate seeing rabbits cooped up at all never mind not being cared for by being kept clean, fed and watered.

I really hope for the rabbit's sake that no one comes for it and it finds a much better home. Please keep us updated.

    I will.
Im heading over to the HA in the next half an hour to see if they will tell me who they spoke too.
Noones called or been round following the notes which is odd but then the whole thing is.

Do you think someone purposely left it there hoping it might be rescued? How many residents frequent the garden who might have seen it?

If what the OP thinks below is true, that could well be the case.

I think it was got as a pet for one of the residents small children and they didnt appreciate the work involved. If it was being minded and was going on Fri it would have gone by Sat at the latest instead noones been out to it.

If so, it's a shocking way to treat an animal and whoever owns/owned it should be reported.

So the HA wouldn't tell me who it is they have spoken to which is fair enough, I asked them to call them just heard back they know the rabbits gone and don't care apparently.

I have lots of pictures and there is the testimony of the rescue and possibly the vet am going to give all this to the RSPCA.

Glad I'm not the only one, I hate any kind of pet being caged, it's just not a natural life for them.
