Am  at the thought of them 'accidentally' cancelling all your listings! You must have been furious!
It happened to a large number of sellers globally, all on fixed price items that had a history. Took them a few days to sort it out and the apology was minimal. I've not really had the same enthusiasm for Ebay since.
    .
  • I don't know how common this problem is but sales we made yesterday on eBay foreign sites, we got an email and so did the customer saying they bought the item, but the sale did not occur on eBay in the UK.
When I raised this with customer support, the reply came back that they can't see any sales I'm talking about! No - that's the problem! lol

We have the emails and customers get an error message when they try to pay!

    I've been Money Tipped!
For the 2nd time I have a sand timer by an item that has been sold and paid for. The last time this happened I emailed PayPal twice asking why a payment to me was being delayed. They never replied and eventually the listing showed that that the payment was cancelled.

I'm not posting anything that has that sand timer and the payment hasn't cleared.

Both buyers transfered funds direct from their Pay Pal account.

I have listed many other items and the payments have all gone through just fine so I'm wondering why this randomly happens.

Any thoughts and how to do fix it?

You should not be looking at eBay for confirmation of payment, it is not safe . Since you need to check the PayPal address anyway, always make a habit of checking your PayPal account for the payment. If it shows as clear in there then regardless of eBay glitches you should send. If payment is not in your PayPal account then there is an issue somewhere.

A egg timer on eBay means several things, either eBay has a glitch, or buyer has completed checkout and may or may not have paid, or an echeque has been sent. It can even mean that seller has typed their PayPal addy wrongly in the payment box and payment is unclaimed. It should never be used to decide whether something should be sent or not.

    Hello,
From 07:45 am BST to 02:00 pm BST on 23 August, several eBay sites and customer service platforms around the world experienced intermittent outages. These outages were the result of technical issues which occurred during regularly scheduled maintenance.
Weve resolved the core technical issues and all eBay sites and customer service functions are up and running again, with near 100% functionality. We are now working to build additional safeguards into the maintenance process to prevent this from happening again.
We'd like to assure you that at no point during this incident was any personal information at risk.
Sellers that were impacted by this outage are covered by the protections in our site outage policy. We will provide impacted sellers with additional information regarding applicable credits in the coming days.
Our top priority is to deliver the best experience to our buyers and sellers. We understand the high expectations our community has for our platform, and we sincerely regret that we did not live up to some of those expectations on Friday.
As always, thank you for being a part of the eBay community.
    Regards
    The eBay Team

    Hello,

I have just spent an age taking photo's of items to list on eBay, but the ruddy thing keeps signing me out and prompting me to sign in again and I'm going round in circles/am unable to list. I usually have no problems.

Does anyone know if this is an error at my end (something to do with my cookies setting perhaps?) or if eBay is having server troubles? Anyone else having the same problem?

    Very frustrating!

    Thanks in advance :)

It's a common glitch, I find restarting my laptop does it but have heard others say clearing cookies or something, too technical for me!
