The only other thing I use it for is making jam and chutney because the base is so heavy0 -
I'm amazed you can make stew in it! I would have thought cooking meat fast would make it tough, but if it comes out tender thats great! I saw an American website saying people use them for canning (thats bottling to you and me) - has anyone tried this? they stand the filled jam jars in the pressure steamer with the lids on to finish the cooking. I want to make some jars of HM dolmio/pasta sauce and this might be really useful0

I'm about to make soups and stews in mine for the winter store, using veg from the garden...got cabbage, carrots, leeks and onions and tatties, plenty of good stock so may as well use it all up."Ignore the eejits...it saves your blood pressure and drives `em nuts!"0

they're lovely and white when I start using them but they go grey after a few washes, I wonder if it would be worth giving them a good cooking?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.
