I love my pressure cooker. I discovered that Icould turn off the gas about half way through the usual cooking time and let it just come down normally, about 20 mins, saves a lot of fuel.
Thanks, do you just bring it up to pressure then wait a few minutes and turn it off? That is brilliantI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

It might be worth reading this short piece on using a generic Prestige pressure cooker:
http://www.ehow.com/how_7833748_prestige-pressure-cooker-instructions.html
The same article gives this link to a copy of the instruction manual for a Prestige hi-dome pressure cooker, but that has 3 weights - 15lb, 10lb and 5lb centrally mounted, whereas yours sounds like its 10lb and 5lb via a side mounted pressure regulator.
http://www.manualsonline.com/mdownloads/5daf1da1-cf6c-4a8d-a09e-b685d1d6b6e2.pdf
These might help with general familiarisation but it might be worth contacting Prestige with the info from the bottom of the pan to see if you can get a copy of the actual instructions for that model. According to my (ultra pc) handbook, their customer care number is 0151 482 8282.
That reference under the pan seems to say it a 5.5litre/4quart capacity but I’m wondering whether the BS stand for compliance to a British Standard reference, not a model number. When I’ve needed to identify a particular model of something, it can be useful to look on ebay at 2nd hand items for sale to see if you can spot look-alikes and get a bit more info on which model it is. Tedious but sometimes helps.

This is why I spent a fortune on an electric pressure cooker...! It has a timer on it and when it's done you just turn a dial and it releases the pressure!
Plus it costs even less to run then a gas one!
The one thing I can say is... I love having a pressure cooker... the meat is so perfect and tender xWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -

I have a prestige pressure cooker, model 2025. I've had it for years but a bit scared to use it, as i've never used one before and I don't know what all the bits do. I don't want to blow up the kitchen!! Does anyone know where I can get an instruction manual from for the model 2025?0

If you go to the Prestige website they will email you one (complete the online form) - they sent me one for the Ultra 2000 the other day!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0

Hello! I've used my pressure cooker for the first time this evening. I soaked pinto, black & kidney heans for an hr and then cooked for 20mins. The skins are all kinda wrinkly. Any idea's what I've done wrong?
Thanks in advance :-)First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Kittenkirst -are your beans edible? if so I wouldn't worry about wrinkly skins. However, I soak beans for at least 8 hrs before cooking in a PC, and then cook pinto & black beans for 12 mins at 15psi. I'm not sure how they would cook if only soaked for an hour - this could have contributed to wrinkly skins.0
