meatballs went down a treat, will definately make them again, combination of a recipe from a pressure cooker book, and my adaptations as i went along.
I simply mixed, extra lean steak mince with chopped onion,a handfull(or 2) of (raw) dried white rice,2 chopped garlic cloves, black ground pepper and 2 tbs of Asda bolognese, seasoning mix for pasta...I was supposed to add to whisked eggs, but i forgot them.,and breadcrumbs, but i used the rice instead....made the mixture into 19 meatballs, placed them on the flat trivet/steamer thingy, poured in a smartprice jar of pasta sauce and a jar of hot water....pressure cooked for 15mins,meatballs cooked perfect..sauce a bit thin,I was worried it would stick and burn...(it wouldve done in the Prestige PC.)il use less water next time(or take time to make my own sauce),served with wholemeal spaghetti...delicious....and the mix that was left has been made into 3 quarter pounders, courtesy of the free burger press i got with the pressure cooker.
Asda have extra lean mince 800gm for only £4,just now.(thats why i had plenty left for burgers..i normaly only use Costco mince, but hadnt defrosted any)Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.

Just dusted off my pressure cooker this week and cooked a spaghetti bol for a quick lunch and the taste and texture was rather disappointing. I used the same recipe as on the hob, but it was just not as good. The flavours did not seem to have developed. The chicken casserole I made yesterday however, was great! So I thought it would be good to share what works and what doesn't in a pressure cooker.0

Thank you for the link, I will take a look! Perhaps some recipes are just better suited to long, slow cooking..... I will take a look on the Slow Cooker thread too.0

Stirred it all in with 2 tbsp of tomato puree, and cooked on high for 15mins.

Spag bol sauce is better if it is left in the fridge for a day. Its not something I would make in the pressure cooker especially if your PC is aluminium. I make casseroles, soup, cook beans and make stock in mine. I have also used it to make small amounts of marmalade. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0

Hi everyone, I just bought my first pressure cooker, and tbh, I am a bit scared of it lol, so I am so pleased to have found this forum with so many people bigging up the pressure cooker.
Does anybody have a good (simple) curry recipe I could use please?

Spag Bol (except the spag bit) should cook fine in the pressure cooker. What are your ingredients?
I've been using pressure cookers for 26 years and use mine for stews, sweet & sour, curries, chillis, meat balls, pulses, legumes, soups etc
Its very rare that I experience problems.0 -
I love mine for making a stew, eg pork or beef cubes. It only takes about 30mins and tastes delicious. I also cooked whole beetroots this year, they only took about 30mins rather than a couple of hours in a pan or in the oven.
I have always cooked my potatoes in the pressure cooker. It's also good for making a quick pot of veg soup.0
