Well done cooking-mama, I will be v surprised if you don't love your KR. I must admit that I am grappling with the idea of buying a KR pressure 'frying pan' thingie, as there are just two of us now it would be good just for smaller meals I suspect, tho I haven't space for it !
Thank you for recipe which is so similar to the Suzanne Gibbs one that I won't repeat it here...I did try it rather nervously and the spuds were nice, but there was water left in the pan so they were a bit wet, and not a patch on proper crispy roasties done in the oven - but a good quick alternative.
There is also a recipe in the KR cookbook (you can buy it from them for about £6 - see the website) for pan fried potatoes with rosemary. You take 1kg spuds, 25g butter, salt and pepper and a bit of nutmeg and 2 tbs fresh rosemary or teaspoons dried. AND NO WATER.
You peel and very thinly slice spuds and dry well, then sprinkle with all the seasonings. Then melt half the butter in a pressure cooker frypan (so not my big p cooker) add the spuds and form them into a cake. Dot with remaining butter and fry until golden brown on the bottom.
Then bring pressure up to 2nd red ring and maintain for 10 mins. reduce pressure by touch release method and turn the spud cake out onto a plate for serving. I don't think I'd try this in my big p cooker, but it sounded a bit scary since it has no water at all !
I will do the thing to get the recipe pdf as I hadn't seen this on the website, so thanks cooking-mama and hope you're enjoying your pc.
And thanks again seraphina for chick pea recipe, my hummus is delicious and the chickpea cooking completely painless 10 -

Cooking-mama, I have just looked for the Uk cookbook which was (I think) in the accessories bit of the KR Uk website, but it seems to have gone. Still I think it had fewer recipes than in the good download you found, so I wouldn't bother. If you like I can pm you a list of the recipes it has in it and if you like any of them I'll send them ? How are you getting on with the KR ?0

Not sure about doing burgers in the pc - if you're going to grill them after anyway I think you might as well just grill them completely. PC not good for things you want a crisp/'chargrilled'/brown surface on.
I wondered if Santa might bring me the pc frying pan, so there are at least two sad people sending messages to Santa this year !:beer:0 -
Pressure cooker to the rescue...
Yesterday I got some diced welsh lamb (just enough for 2)from Waitrose as a special treat, and cooked it with some Patak's Rogan Josh paste + onions and tinned toms - as per the recipe on the jar. Simmered it gently for the 30 mins specified, and found it still rock hard. gave it about 15 mins more, and then a hungry face appeared round the kitchen door, loooking hopeful. The meat was still uneatable so I whacked it into the pc gave it 10 mins at full pressure and it emerged all tender and delicious. I shall do that again but not bother with the simmering bit - straight to the pressure cooker with it. We had spicy rice with it and OH, who claims to hate curry said he'd be very happy to have it again...hoorah 10 -

Update on the kuhn rikon...ive just cooked a chicken in it for todays dinner(im working backshift,so will take mine to work and leave the rest for family)..Instruction manual stated 15mins for 1.4kg...I thought this was a bit quick ,so cooked it for 18mins..but it still didnt reach 180 degress cooked on the meat thermometer(only 156 ),gave it another 7mins taking it to a total of 25mins,it looks perfect, its cooling on a rack,i dunno how the breast/legs will be,but i tried a wee bit wing meat and that was kinda "chewy",like everything else its just gonna take time to get used to,i had a wee bit trouble regulating the 2 rings on my gas cooker, even at lowest setting it looked as tho the thing was popped up too high...Im amazed at how little water it uses, cant wait for my days off,to use it properly and with more time.
PS,i sprinkled it with Schwartz perfect shake for chicken..(paid around £!.60 for it)wouldnt bother, waste of money, looks and smells good, but im sure a chicken oxo wouldve done just the same.Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.
