Yes, another 6 months. I feel after a year of working from home, the problem employers will have is trying to get staff to come back to the office. After a year, working from home really will be the new normal, so why do you need me there? I function perfectly well from home. Everything gets done. You can see me and talk to me when you need to. Why come to the office?
Oh well, I managed to get my 20p's paid in, so £100 more off the mortgage. All good.
Payday, so did the money shuffle. Electric bill has increased. I assume that its due to being at home all day. I assume the gas bill will increase significantly over winter as well as I refuse to be cold inside, and I am going to be inside a lot over the next 6 months.
I don't anticipate being able to make any overpayments on the mortgage next month because 1. I don't have any money stashed away to pull out of a hat or a tin. And 2. I have to pay for the car insurance, which is not cheap.
Anyway, spent some money in preparation for the cleaner arriving on Saturday. I really hope she turns up.What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Thanks Savings. The insurance looks like it will be under £400 so I cannot complain. Once that is paid for, that's the car covered for another year. Still need to consider the bike which has been sorned for nearly 7 months now. If I don't pay it some attention, it will seize into a solid block of rust, but coming into winter is not the time. May just leave it until spring, why disturb it now?
Wasted £3 on ebay buying a diary, but managed to buy 2020! Oh well, could have been worse! Have to try again. 2 steps forward and 1 step back.
On a positive note, managed to pay another £11 from Prolific surveys into the account to pay off the laptop. Definitely, the highest payer is Prolific, with One Poll coming in a very slow second. The £30 from One Poll still has not arrived in my bank account so I can pay this across, but it did say it could take up to a month. No idea why, but no worries. Currently at £5.50 towards my next £25 pay-out. All going in the right direction. I genuinely believe I will have paid off the laptop by the end of October at this rate, or the end of November at the latest.
Still no joy with finding a cleaner. Maybe this is the Cosmos trying to tell me to pull my finger out and do it myself? After all, I would save all that money which could go towards the car payment, or the mortgage etc...
Thanks for the recommendations TG. Tried Next Door and it suggested I start a group as there is no existing group within my neighbourhood! Will have to give some thought to the Facebook login as I am not on Facebook/social media. And posters in shops are not allowed as they are restricting touch points for covid, so no local signs in shops at the moment. Yes, the more I think about this, the more I should just learn to enjoy cleaning. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

That's all I am looking for. Once a fortnight or once a month, doubling up on hours. It would be financially better for them to do once a month because they would save in travel costs as well. But clearly, I am in too remote a location I assume. That, or I am paying too low, but I don't think so. Not a worry, just another example of not being able to find people to do work. Bit like trying to employ people at work - there is a skills shortage there as well - the numbers you get applying are low, with a lot of applicants having no experience. I am certain that many at work only put in an application because the JC+ says they have to apply for a certain number of jobs per week. Anyway, doesn't help me with my dilemma. It makes you realise, without stereotyping badly - why the older generation and vulnerable individuals sometimes get taken for a ride and exploited. Because they may be desperate to get some work done and the only people willing to help are those who will charge an arm and a leg, and in their desperation, they say yes. After all, someone is better than no-one when in need...What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Sad but true. Kitchen quote was classic example £850 Vs £510 and the latter are doing more. Even are patio quote first quote was over by up to £1k.
On the cleaner pre c19 a lot avoided fortnightly jobs as cleaner would forget to bgo or go to the wrong one. My cleaner is trying to go to one house per day to minimise risks for all.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi Tahlullah - I need to sort my car insurance too - I keep putting it off. DH saved hundreds of £s by switching compared to the original quote.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
